DislikedI do have a question.
In lesson 3 aow #4 Does anyone have any thoughts when were told not to besiege walled cities if it can possibly be avoided ?Ignored
DislikedHi lilpip,
In adding to Zorans comments, this is also how I interpret the "walled cities". When we can see that we are approaching a key level of support/resistance, these are areas that we can anticipate no easy victory but more than likely will meet hostile forces. The idea again is to do battle quickly without redeployment of additional troops:
"Hence to fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting." AOW
We want to pick the areas of entry that will pose the quickest and easiest path to victory. Long campaigns are not desired.
Applicable quotes from the AOW:
When you engage in actual fighting, if victory is long
in coming, then men's weapons will grow dull and
their ardor will be damped. If you lay siege to a
town, you will exhaust your strength.
Now, when your weapons are dulled, your ardor
damped, your strength exhausted and your treasure
spent, other chieftains will spring up to take
advantage of your extremity. Then no man, however
wise, will be able to avert the consequences that
must ensue.
There is no instance of a country having benefited
from prolonged warfare.
In war, then, let your great object be victory, not
lengthy campaigns.
What the ancients called a clever fighter is one who
not only wins, but excels in winning with ease.
Making no mistakes is what establishes the
certainty of victory, for it means conquering an
enemy that is already defeated.
Hence the skillful fighter puts himself into a
position which makes defeat impossible, and does
not miss the moment for defeating the enemy.
Thus it is that in war the victorious strategist only
seeks battle after the victory has been won,
whereas he who is destined to defeat first fights and
afterwards looks for victory.
You can be sure of succeeding in your attacks if you
only attack places which are undefended.
Hence that general is skillful in attack whose
opponent does not know what to defend; and he is
skillful in defense whose opponent does not know
what to attack.
The spot where we intend to fight must not be made
known; for then the enemy will have to prepare
So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to
strike at what is weak.
Like water, taking the line of least resistance.
Hope this helps...it has helped me.
Regards,
NP

Try to understand why rescue.
Try to understand attack.
Try to understand proper Money Management.
Try to understand the concept of positions management(babysit).
Try to understand dance with the market(read the chart as forming and follow the flow).
And then, the golden mine to open to you. Gurantteed.

I hope it hasn't turned into health reasons.Ignored
DislikedThere is no hope in the markets especially in the forex, it's the most lethal and deadliest capital market out there, the only thing you can hope for is death to your account when you throw that worthless word in your vocabulary and apply it in your mindset. hope is 'hopeless' in trading. hope = loss of all things that can go wrong is what hoping in the markets will bring you. that's another fallacy in tecnicals. hoping for it to work. hearing that word *hope* and seeing it alot in these forums makes me cringe and shudder when i read of it.Ignored

Quoting jestDislikedif ur doing this hedge, there's no way you're gonna get to 10k within that 80 trades.Ignored
Quoting ZoranDislikedI am not entirely certain about the following:
"and volatility run of max 7 bars average 3"
but my guess would be fti plays his sequence based on each bar (or close to it). He will unwind fully in 7 bars if the volatility is strong but he normally only gets to the third level before winding back in.
So he could play each bar and depending on the following plus measuring speed and what the component bars represent will determine his play. When viewing his charts, it is quite obvious that he plays very close to the market.
Also, when referring to Gann, he highlighted the fact that on average, Gann's trades lasted 20 minutes so that may coincide with fti's practice?
Leigh, perhaps you could confirm?Ignored
Quoting ftiDisliked[23:24] fti: do you notice that the down bars are in 3s and 4s
[23:24] fti: the up bars are singular
[23:25] fti: and now the up bars are singular and down bars are singular
[23:25] fti: sign of stops sweepIgnored
Quoting ftiDislikedThis attack sequense is not invoked when the market volatility is tight, Only when the legs are strong,(strong = range play 50 pips average) and volatility run of max 7 bars average 3.Ignored
Quoting ZoranDislikedDoes anyone know whether fti waited for a candle to finish before entering?
Also, when he referred to shadows, is anyone clear about what that means or the type of action it represents?Ignored
Quoting ftiDisliked[23:41] fti: don't read too deep into the bars
[23:41] fti: just remember the reversal barsIgnored
