Hello Members!

In a threat about a trading-strategy, a professional trader was answering some questions for noobs like me.

Inside an answer, he was writing:

I have a spiral index card file for each currency pair which tells me the daily average ranges, news times, calendar holidays, how they trade in pairs either in unison or opposite and other information too.

For myself, i start to think, it must be a great idea, to have some background-informations about the currency-pairs. Inside me was growing the idea, to do the same.

But I need your help.

Please, post here every information about the currency (e.g. above), for to collect & share.

I will start with an information i found in another thread:

The following dailyaverage ranges listed below were calculated on their daily high to lows. This was done from 5/2003 to 5/2006 which is a three year study.

Currency PairsDaily Ave. Range

EUR/USD 112
GBP/USD 145
USD/CHF 125
USD/JPY 97
AUD/USD 68
NZD/USD 71

Having this information helps in knowing the potential of movements.

And maybe the following PDF-Doc in the appendix can help, too.

Seriously, this sounds like a great idea, divecall. Think how much more valuable the final result will be if it's the product of your own hard work and research. Do it up, man. If you don't, someone else will.

My idea was, that traders (newbie, amateur,Prof) post here information that they have. This will help us, for to save time and power.

Sure, i want to have some information, but why not sharing? And if somebody other using this idea, why not? if all the people help, we all in the FF will have the provit.
the secret ist NOT the information, it is WHAT I AM DOING with this, e.g. for my strategy ot whatever.

The vision is at last, that all the traders post here something, facts, and during the time, everybody can do his own "spiral card index file", filled with the Data, what is important for him.

Helpful PDF's you have posted. Johnedoe posted this link sometime back. It may fit into this project. Click on one of the pairs for more info.

In trading, there is no bullshit. You either make money or you don't.

It won't work. Look how unsuccessful the Napstex site was.

Currency metrics aren't verified by anyone. You'll have a bunch of idiots compiling data. You'll base decisions of incorrect information.

The problem with Wiki sites is that you don't control who will contribute, and it can be a monumental task to try to regulate.

You have all the right, but i dont want to build a wiki-page. i want a page of paper with some information about the currency (-pair) what i can put in my trading journal. e.g: on may, 28th is in greatbritain a holiday - so i think: the volume (and maybe the pips) are not the same for the GBP-currencys, like on other days. So, this is an information, what i need to put on this paper.

Thanks for the critic.

This is a great idea. However, I have nothing valuable to add. Sorry But I am now subscribed to this thread.
The ForEx giveth and the ForEx taketh away. (more taketh than giveth).
