Trading Session Highlight Visual Effect Possible ?

I have made some verticle lines to mark the opening and closing times of US and EU trading sessions. Now I want to dim the non-US and non-EU trading sessions visually. Is there any visual effect which can dim the whole area ? or make it transparent? Thank you!

You can't control the "alpha" but you can get a similar effect by choosing a dimmer color, setting it to a background line and using a different line style.

why bother re-inventing the wheel? There are hundreds of indicators out there that show the different sessions, with lines or boxes, some even change the size of the box to show you the high and low of the session.
