Forex historical data

Hello,

I'm looking for GBPUSD and AUDUSD historical data going back to 1950. Any suggestions for a source of free data of this kind?

Unless you are also planning to build a time machine to go back and run your system in the past, I would suggest you may not need to go back that far, the market will have changed many times since then.

I hate to piggy back on your thread - but it is kind of related. I am looking for the historical daily prices of several stocks from 1938 - 1940. US Steel and Bethlehem Steel to be particular.
I am wanting to understand Jesse Livermore's methodology and the print outs of his 'market key' sometimes don't make sense. This is why I have been looking for the dailies on these two stocks for these years.

Maybe Intradaybill is trying to proof something also and having those old numbers makes it easier to understand.

I plan to use the data to test the patterns a Swiss bank trader used in the 50s and 60s to make millions in spot markets and see if and how their performance have changed after the drop of the gold standard and the introduction of futures in the 70s.

Then, I will use the data with the demo of a neat pattern program that does data mining program to see if it generates some of the same patterns during that early period in daily and weekly data. I have strong indications based on some testing I have done that short term trading with reduced risk can generate much larger profits than intraday trading provided the money management is sound.

I am also using a neural net program to find correletations between gold and dollar moves in short term time frames and I want to see how they have changed since then.
