IS there a software that can be used with the metatrader platform, that will give colored blinking alerts, when certain candlestick, patterns show on a chart, and if not , is there anyone interested in designing one, would be a plus for candlestickstick traders

The only way I can think of getting symbols to flash is to change colour every 'tick'. There's no time-interupt functionality built into MT4.

Otherwise someone would have to write a DLL that did something visible for you on the screen.

Now that you mention it though, it would be handy if Metaquotes made a 'flash' attribute for objects/indicators. Or assigned a colour that flashes.

If what you mean is candlestick pattern recognation......I have it....but I dont know how to attach it.so.......PM me remember to give your email address on your PM to me?

Would like to see what you have, my idea was foe certain patterns that show up on a chart, you can set certain colors per pattern, that shade the area where the pattern occurs, and these colors blink, until you shut them off, good for the hard of hearing, deaf, or just people that can not watch certain charts during the day.Someone should tap into software for the deaf that trade. Look for other links in the "Similar Threads" area at the bottom of these pages, and/or perform a forum search on "pivots".

IMHO, price is more likely to reverse at/near Fibo retracements, prior S/R, and also sweet spots (round numbers like 1.9700, 101.00, etc) than at daily pivots, although to be fair, I'm talking intraday, and (to a certain extent) each pair has its own idiosyncrasies. Personally, I only take note of pivots (PP, S1, R1, etc) when they align confluently with other line studies.

Some traders use the cental pivot point to determine their long or short bias, i.e. will only take short positions if price is above the pivot, or long below the pivot.

To make these kind of forecasts accurately, with any degree of consistency, you would need a crystal ball. Successful technical trading is about managing risk, taking "high probability" entries, riding whatever moves happen to come your way, and some luck.

Just for reference, while indicators run in the UI's thread and must not pause or even take too long per a tick in order not to make the system sluggish, EA's each run in their own thread. You don't have to return from start, ever. Some EA's don't. You should call sleep periodically so that you don't use all the CPU cycles and make the system sluggish in that way, but you do not have to constrain your timing to ticks as you do with indicators. You cannot draw indicators on a chart in an EA but you can draw objects.
