Hey, no problem, feel free to throw out ideas here. I want this thread to try and be as constructive as possible. I would like to see others demo different pairs and if changes need to be made I'll look into it.

Mer, any chance of putting an option to let the EA open a new trade, in the same direction, when a TP is hit? I understand you are opening just one sequence per day and per pair. Is that right? I'm thinking on several trades a day, maybe during the full London and US sessions, for instance...

Could you tell me what the OrderTries and slippage options do exactly?

Unfortunately, I cannot make any changes unless the person wanting the changes pays me to have my coder do so, and he is not cheap. You can always change the start time or price and re-enter after each sequence.

Slippage is the difference between the price you're quoted and the price you get filled at and the ordertries function allows the EA to resend orders if there are any errors.

Just one thought about the never-ending Martingale pros and cons discussion: Why not putting a "disaster stop" in the form of a limited number of re-entries? Let's say 10 (just tossing a number here). This would equal to a certain value in $. This way, in a ranging market that may be disastrous for this system, we end up with a certain, controlled loss, that should be taken as part of the business (like in any other system), but we will still have an account to trade with.

Started forward testing on Wednesday night allowing only short trades on 5 majors pairs and profit of over 200 so far. My thinking is that ranges will kill this accout so allowing shorts only should help. Will keep you posted.

Middleastern, the hard part is how do we know when price will break out? What happens when we put a "disaster stop" in then price breaks out immediately after? Do I really want to stomach the loss? As I said before that is basically why I trade only during those hours between 07:00 to 17:00 GMT to make sure I have the volatility I need and if I feel I'm hitting a ranging period within those hours, I'll just turn my EA off.

qz10cq, I don't understand, are you starting the with the first long set to false or are you manual putting in shorts only and not letting the EA alternate trades.

Expermenting with the ea, went to ea properties/common and set it to short only. The idea behind this is to trade only in the direction of a longer TF. Seems to be working with ur ea but I have only traded this for a few days and it was a sideways market. Will keep you posted. Nice ea.

Just wanted to update everyone, my Eur/Usd trade sequence from Friday 3/21/2008 did close when trading resumed tonight with the gap and spike down and the Usd/Jpy and Usd/Chf trades that were in progress when the market closed on Friday were stopped out and we'll see how they continue tonight when the EA restarts them at 07:00 GMT.

Hey guys, sorry I'm a little late today with results. Eur/Usd for 3/24/2008 finished pretty quickly (which is OK by me!) and the Usd/Jpy and Usd/Chf sequences from Friday, 3/21/2008 finished up their run this morning as well. It's good to see the timed entry is working smoothly and kept me out of trouble during the low volatility over the holiday weekend. I was expecting to go deeper in the run but a little more volume on Monday morning did kinda surprise me.

Well, so far so good. Eur/Usd hasn't gone past level 10, Usd/Jpy hasn't gone past level 7, and Usd/Chf hasn't gone past level 10 as well. But there's still a long way to go before we're done testing.

I was experimenting with only short trades and it didn't work. EA only opened the one short trade and would not repeat. Agree with Chartist, this ea would be safer with those issues addressed. Still experimenting with ea, I like it, especially the progression.

What do you mean with "only short trades"? That's not possible. It's a stop and reverse system...

Ok Guys, a word from me. This seem to be a nice system. I will stick to it and test it for a while. I've just put an EA to my demo account, with Time and price set to false. It opened a position immediately. This function is working properly on my account.

I think the only "bug" is if both Price and Time are set to false... Price:false and Time:true has worked great for me too....

Edit: deleted discussion about trading the UJ starting at 1200 or 1300 gmt.. I had my time set wrong last night, which is why I got the 8-trade sequence... set properly, would have been less... still, 8 trades is just fine!

And.... funny that the "sweet spot" in this system is right in that 7-12 trade sequence range.. If we hit every trade the first time, the gains are very small... if we hit the 18th or 20th trade, we get a MUCH larger gain, but one HECK of a drawdown... so really, we do better at 7-12 trade sequence, but we have to be able to "stomach" the drawdown...

I tried to re-structure the lot sizes to ALWAYS get say, a $20 gain trading micros, and while that is quite easy to do, (thanks to the spreadsheet!!), it results in a larger drawdown progression than the "default"... but, on the other hand, every trade's gain is consistent... always about $20, regardless of the trade sequence, which has some merit,, maybe...

Yes.... you just have to edit the inputs, toward the bottom, where it lists the lot sizes & progression. It is set by default to a mini lot: .1;.1;.2 etc... just change it to: .01;.01;.02 etc. In fact, you can change it to whatever size sequence you want! like .02;.02..03;.05... just for example. So, you can play with the spreadsheet to get the profit/drawdown progression you want to see, and list those lot sizes into that input, and you are off an running..

VERY nice feature, good, solid EA....

I second (third, fourth... ) the idea of adding a "re-trade" function that would re-enter the sequence at the SAME lot size IF the trade stops out at the breakeven point....

The False:False bug is not a big deal, but should be addressed in the interest of cleaning up the code... very cool....
