Hi Matt can u pls enlightn me on the meaning of ATR based stop and take profit amd having som very good entries on my ea but lockin in profit and riding trend till the end seems to be a problem for me + trailing by parabolic sar is not as efficient as i want thanks

i guess it matters what ur using psar for
a trading system or just a stop?

on gbp-jpy i like the 0.003 on m30
if you use a mtf psar and view this on m5 it lines up nice with the 200 ema

it has proven the best in all my testing on that pair

but far as using psar as a trailing stop
id think u need something tighter?

i would just use what looks good on the chart your trading for the current conditions

you can change it with conditions

I do remember reading a comment by TC, months ago, that optimal psar settings varied widely by currency pair and TF. Just wondering if anyone has done any research on this.

Hallo Faliowino!

I had the same impression about the PSAR TS and somehow it behaved differently on different platforms at first. Then I reinstalled and on the other hand deleted some older MT4 platforms and all of a sudden the stops were moved in time. I changed the default settings from 2 candles behind to 1 candle and in the stormy markets we had this move did fine. Still we need to get good settings for the PSAR, but our friend TC is just now on the sidelines and may enlighten us on that!

ATR is the Average True Range of the pair and this indicator therefor measures the average movement of the pair in a predestined timespan. So if you use a TS that uses a percentage of the ATR, you will not try to catch a major rise, when there is no chance and the TS will be pretty close. If you still have a lot of open range at your disposal, the TS will be trailing more loosely and only close in on the price as the percentage of ATR you set is getting closer.

Hope that helped a bit ... and made sense... somehow I am dizzy today!

Hi TC!

What we are mainly looking at is the PSAR as a TS on a 4H & Daily TF. So we need some reactivity there, as the 4H candles may inlcude really major movements.
I found that having the stop on the second candle "behind" is not really satisfactory and so I put it at 0.002 & 0.2 behind on the last candle. This lead to quite early taking of minor profit!
We just need some cool settings for that TFs for the Yen pairs - all others are just fine with standard.

I am watching your EA grow over there! Really impressive! Great work!

Hi just after some clarification on how often signals are generated. I am using the beta 14 ea and as you can see the image attached at4 take profit presets. I have had no signals for 2 days across several pairs is this normal or have i set things up incorrectly.

Hi everyone and thanks to all of you for your hard work on this method and ea. I've started testing it last week it has excellent entries based on QQE and rather poor exits as many of you mentioned already. I am still working on different setting for different tf and pairs will post my findings. I found reentry feature in setting is that means ea will reenter the market after specified target been hit or sl/trailing stop activated or we need to wait for the next QQE cross to take trade? I suppose some of it can be adjusted through MM settings such as scale out/pyramidind and such.

Hallo censura!

The EA on the upper right hand corner of the chart is frowning, so something must be wrong and he cannot take any trades.
Either the "allow live trading" box on the common tab is not ticked, or you have not allowed EAs in the "extras" - "options" - "expert adviser" section of your platform.
I think everthing else looks good! Please save your images as *.jpg and then use the "manage attachment" section of the editor here on FF - then we can see your picture right away and it does not need to be that large!

Let me know if you could solve th problem!

Thanks for the kind words and yes, please let us know what you find in your tests! Re-entry has so far not been tested too much, but it is meant to do as you described up there. With re-entries the EA would act similar to a grid trader and that can be good in a "buy only" and "sell only" situation, but not for continuous runs.

So now we see a second introduction of the QQE to the OzFx thread? Hope it does not confuse people there. But adding it to an EA for safety reasons would probably be a good move.

Thanks for testing. I am working like mad on the MM and will be releasing my results and some set files. We have many ways to capture profits and I am trying to come up with the most efficient non-curve fitted settings. In addition, I have been experimenting with a Ninjatrader port of a simplified Supernova going against MB trading. I am going as fast as I can

Hey Rick there is no pressure from my side this thing is working fine as is on semi-auto I can imagen what it will do after you are all done with it. From my previous experience I can tell you the indis can get you in but right numbers game is the key and I see a lot of excellent setting you have build in.
