Damon and fellow ATP traders,

As I am more of a visual person I can grasp a concept a lot more effectively when I see how all of its elements fit together in a bigger picture. So I have compiled all the rules we've learned so far from Damon into one comprehensive process flow. I arranged them the way I understand the rules at this moment and the manner in which the rules affect one another.

I hope Damon and everyone else interested will make corrections or addition to this document. I think that this exercise can help a lot of us, including myself, to fill in the missing links and correct weaknesses in our understanding of the ATP method as a whole. We can keep adding to this chart as we learn about more entry rules.

Tonight I would like to introduce you to the Turn Around Momentum Builder Trade (TAMB)

This is not really a new trade although it does incorporate some new postions. It is mainly a way of catagorizing an existing strategy to make the decision making process easier. I think that you will find this to be the case.

Here are the General Rules:

  1. In order for this to be a valid signal we first need a Non-Lag Reversal Entry (NLRE) to signal (not trigger). Once this happens we cancel all pending orders in the opposite direction.
  2. Once we get the NLRE signal, we start placing pending orders in the opposite direction of the trade based on the bar that closed the day before today's close.
  3. We continue to place these types of orders until at some point we think that we have enough of these.
  4. Standard S/L and Entry rules apply.
  5. I keep these trades open until I get another NLRS in the same direction and then I close out all those orders and start from scratch again.

As you can see from the chart above we have a NLRE signal based on the red ST dot and the NL turning yellow. Here is what we do.

1. We cancel all long pending orders.
2. We start placing long pending orders 2 days behind the current day with standard S/L and Entry rules applied.
3. We continue to place these orders as the market continues down. Always two days behind the current day.

Based on the chart above we currently have 2 TAMB trades at the moment. One at the high of Friday's bar the other at the high of Monday's bar. We want to capitalize on the slightest movement if the direction turns back up again.

As you can see from the chart above we have a NLRE signal based on the green ST dot and the NL turning yellow. Here is what we do.

1. We cancel all long short orders.
2. We start placing short pending orders 2 days behind the current day with standard S/L and Entry rules applied.
3. We continue to place these orders as the market continues down. Always two days behind the current day.

Based on the chart above we curretnly have 1 TAMB trades at the moment. This was placed today based on two bars back from today's open.

This is kind of what we have been doing except that we will place more pending stop orders against the movement in anticipation of a turn around to go to the same height or depth. It is also very possible that you could have up to 10 or more of these TAMB trades pending at any one time. The more that are placed the more you stand to profit when the market reverses and heads back to where it came from.

Looking at your spreadsheet it looks like the GBPUSD TAMB Buy Stop price of 2.0397 is incorrect?

Hey TF...

This is correct and was set yesterday based on the close of Sunday's/ Monday's at Friday's high. We did not have one today because the close of today was higher than the close of yesterday's but Friday's remains in good standing.

I will keep Friday's open until I get another NLRE short and then I will cancel all these long orders and start making new ones.

You are welcome. I love trading this way. It is almost stress free.

What amazes me is how well I keep my account balance and equity reasonably close to where it is at while waiting for the next trend. There never seems to be a large drawdown and I am always in some trades the win and others that lose until the trend.

Then they all win and that is fabulous

I'm also not jealous of you or your 'systems' because I've been there and done that over many years and now have a profitable regime based on trading more fundamentals and news.

Yes you're right, my posts generally are negative because I've seen nonsense TA stuff like yours and others posted time and time again over the years on this and other forums and often gullible newbies are taken in by the gobbledegook and short term gains many posters have.

The fact of the matter is is that TA simply does not work when it comes to using simplistic indicators and waiting for cross-overs and similar signs. They work fine when walked backwards but they always break down (some sooner than others) when walked forwards.

Enthusiastic newcomers see the charts, see the analysis and think, 'yea, this is the answer' and they often like the fact that it sounds scientific and complex (or simple depending on your taste). They then risk their hard earned cash and soon realise what they originally saw was a short term situation which was never going to walk forward profitably.

There are ways to trade forex profitably (as I do), particularly with insider info and/or a solid insight into what is really driving the markets. TA doesn't do anything other than look at historic numbers and they'll tell you next to nothing that can be usefully used in the future. Being an ex-mathematician I'd love it to be otherwise but sadly it just aint so.

I think negative posts like mine that damn TA have a role in bringing newbies (and others) to their senses when it comes to believing much of the nonsense that's banded about.

If you can make a profit then good luck to you but I can assure you there is a much greater chance of your flawed house of cards crumbling sooner or later.

Please go be an unsuccessful trader somewhere else. We have poeple here that are trying to learn and will take things from here as they move on that will be valuable to them later on in life.

We all here realize that you are the most knowlegable trader ever to walk the face of the earth and that is why you learn nothing and listen not to what others are saying.....because you already know it all and we are all beneath you.

Rather than dropping your big wad of smelly %$@* on my porch you could have tactfully come in a warned poeple about how risky it is to trade the Forex and not risk more than you can affor to lose. This is Damonian's Mathmatical Theory and it also works, you should try it sometime.

So what will it be my brother....will you continue to be a non factor in the lives that you cross during life's journey or a factor? I hope that you learn to become a factor. Then everyone will benefit by what you have to say rather than no one.

Your point is well taken that fundies have an impact on Forex trading, but let me point out that we all don't trade the same. Some of us trade with Fibs and some don't, etc... At the end of the day ATP will work for some and not for all. We take bits and pieces from strategies here and there and make it our own and in the end piece together our own masterpiece. If you would like to share how you interpret fundies please feel free to share. I am sure we are all open ears for learning new trading techniques.
