@ Damon;

I just tried something really cool, which was to remove the weekend bar from the history center (Tools\History Center). This works well and we only have to do this once a week. What do you think?

Directions to Remove Sunday Bar from History Center:

On the Platform Menu:
1. Select Tools ---> History Center (History Center will open up in a separate window)

On the History Center Window:
2. Double-Click the Pair (e.g. EURUSD)
3. Double-Click the Timeframe (e.g. Daily (D1))
4. Select the Sunday Data (2008.03.16 00:00) and Click on the Delete button.
5. Close the History Center window and then change your Chart to a different timeframe (e.g. H4) and then back to D1 timeframe.
All done.

Hi everybody,

Hope all fellow Damonians are doing well. My first question of the day deals with when you get an exit signal, whether it be early exit, timely exit, or trend reversal exit, the rules say to move S/L to the bar the gave signal. If the S/L is triggered, that only affects the currently open orders. Then what about the remaining pending orders that have not been triggered? When should they be closed out? My best guess is we close out ALL trades, open and pending, when we get a Trend Reversal Exit signal i.e. ST dot and AO (So if we moved S/L and it gets triggered, we would also close out any pending orders). But for Early and Timely Exit we may still leave the pending orders open, because price might change its mind and turn back in the original direction.

Please let me know the weakness in my analysis.

hey k.

Personally i never try to predict where the market will go or how news will affect it. Besides, what is the worst case scenario? OUt of a 10K account you lose a couple hundred bucks on a big move against you. You can make that up easy.

Most likely removing the Sunday candle will effect the calculation on SilverTrend (ST) for Monday trading, but based on the rules we are not supposed to use the Sunday bar for trading on Monday's anyway, therefore ST should not use the Sunday bar either IMO.

Great analysis...This is exactly as it should be. I am glad that we are both reading the charts the same way.But if the Early Exit is triggered stop placing any additional long orders, but keep any pending orders open.

Also...don't forget about the RSI 14 which was brought up later as the 4th exit signal. If you search the thread for it you will find it.

Well....this is true to a point. I always used the signal (eiter exit or entrance) of Sunday's bar, just used the highs/lows of Fridays' bars to set the parameters of that trade.

It is a good point brought up. Everything so far has been desinged using the Sunday bar. Would this change anything?

Hi again,

Thank you, Damon, for clarifications about exit strategies. I'll need to train my eyes with several more chart set-ups to become comfortable with the rules. In my opinion, the exit strategies are one of the most crucial elements to successful implementation of ATP.

Please allow me to turn in my homework and post my daily analysis for today (word document attached). Please kindly point out any gaping holes in my analysis.

A quick question - this is USDCAD, no blue dot, but blue NL and close above last yellow NL => even though without blue dot, is this still long trend? If so, we can put DPTT and ACCT both pending long?

hey K.....

Actually we are still in a bear market according to this chart.

ST dot is red and AO became red. So far there is no NLRT because there is no green ST dot. According to this chart all orders should be short. DPTT and 1DCT

However, you have two more trade set-up as well. AO Divergence Trade (AODT). This would be long. And the ACCT which would also be long except that the AC has been hanging around 0 level and would be a bad choice.

I will probably just place the 2 short orders for the time being, and the AODT long. I hope to be able to go over AODT with you guys soon

All these things can blurr together, but we will get it

Hi Damon,

In a case as pointed out by Keramikus, there were three higher-lows three bars in a row. Would we then have placed 1DCT three days in a row, even though the first one had not been triggered?

Also, I was under the impression that an ACCT trade would only be placed in the direction of original confirmed trend. So in this case, an ACCT signal would only qualify if it's in the down direction, would it not?

Yes...that is correct...my bad.

ACCT is only in direction of the trend. Good catch .

And as for the 1DCT, you would have placed them, but it is only good for one day, so if it doesn't trigger, you would cancle it and move it to the next bar. only one 1UCT and 1DCT open at any one time.

As you can see, we really only have 1 trade option for tonight and that is our DPTT long.

Aslo noted is that as of this point any of our longer term trades would keep the same S/L as we have not gotten a signal to move them as of yet.

I hope that you are all enjoying my thread. I have many more trades to share with you, but tonight I am very tired.

In the meantime please continue to get a feel for the system. All is well.

Thank you for another crystal clear explanation. So, if I understand correctly, 1DCT or 1UCT will be deleted if not triggered the same day they are set. However, once triggered, they'll remain open until an exit signal occurs. Is this correct?

Also, please see below EUR/AUD chart from today. Looks like an AO Continuation trade should have been placed two bars back (first yellow vertical line). And then we had an AC Continuation trade yesterday (second yellow vertical line), so another long trade should have been placed here, right? And also today we should have placed a DPTT trade, making it a total of two pending orders opened today. Am I getting this right?
