GFT gone very slow

Hi, ive been trading news events with gft UK for 3 months now and making very good profits, however this week every time i opened a position during the news there was at least a 10-15 second delay before my order opens, often leaving me with a bad fill or just about breaking even.

Has anyone had this experienced this with GFT or any other broker. they start of great then go slow.

Its strange they have been really quick at opening and closing trades for the 3 months ive been using them but now theyve gone slow. I know they have a dealing desk and am wondering because im making good profits my account has been flagged so to speak and all my trades are going through the desk now!

any advice would be great.

Yep I had the same problem eons ago when I traded news using gft. What used to happen is they didnt accept my order but it wasnt cancelled either, cant remember exactly what they called it, it was like in pending mode or something, so you couldnt put a stop or limit on the order and then it would suddenly get taken when I was in the red...really crappy...needless to say I dont trade news and I definitely dont trade news with gft anymore...I dont know what they are like now as I closed my account with them after that, but it was scary and Ive heard of others who have had the same problem..not too many people trade the news anymore that I know though, brokers have their way of getting back at you (widening spreads or the gft tricks) so you have to be very swift to hang onto profits I would say. I have never traded with GFT UK but many other traders on this forum and other forums have reported the same situation you are in. It looks like you've been flagged. Trade small amount from now to minimise potential loss due to bad fill. If you see that this problem continues, you should find another broker before GFT eats away at your hard earned profits. Be careful.

Can you tell me whether you were using their normal platform or their spreadbet platform?

Thanks guys, ive taken over 15K off them in 2 months so i think their pissed. im going to trade small for now and see what happens, im also going to trade under another name and see if the problem is still there.

If GFT work in another account do you suguest keeping my trades small so i dont get noticed, lets say under 5 lots etc.

Yeah, I would take the money and run to be honest, get yourself a broker with no dealing desk like IB or MIG or something...like I said I dont know anyone trading the news these days so I cant comment on how any broker handles newstraders now. Oanda has great execution but of course, you have to deal with huge spreads on news...good luck, Raz

Had the exact same problem after i hit + 7 or 8% in my account. Fast as lightning as long as your loosing!!

thanks guys, FXMUTANT was you with GFT when u experience the slowness. im in the UK. i made 300% in two months.

Can anyone reccomend a good broker for the news. do i need an ecn broker.

Ive found a uk company called alpari who state that instant executions on orders under 50 lots.

They just realized you were making money - thats all.

Whether you trade news, scalp, day trade or whatever style you do, if you make money with a market maker, THEY WILL SCREW YOU!

I'd go with ECN.

don't trade small go with ecn broker.
If I Go Broke Trying Then I Will die happy.
