The EURUSD short was triggered and was stopped out. We are now looking for a trend continuation setup? Not 100% sure but I think it is safe to say that once price closes above current red ST dot we will get a new green ST dot?

Edit: Correction. I gave it a second look and now I don't think we will get a new green ST dot instead the current red ST dot will move. I guess time will tell all. Just speculating.

Does the position of the ST dot on the vertical axis also matter?
I have not watched that till you just mentioned this?

TF, do we need AO green? I mean if this bar closes above the red dot high, then we have clear trend continuation upwards - red dot is negated, so AO and possible NL yellow dont count, we dont put any short orders, only long DPTT and UCT. What u think?

I looked at the rules and it looks like we need AO to close in green. NL does not count, but based on my interpretation of the Trend Continuation rules we need a green AO.

3. Trend Continuation: This is how you will determine if you had gotten a false reading from either the Trend Reversal Indication or the Trend Reversal Confirmation. 3 of 3 things need to happen for you to consider that the trend is actually going to continue and not reverse as indicated. This will more than likely reveal itself after the Trend Reversal Indication as opposed to the Trend Reversal Confirmation.

The 1st thing that needs to happen is that you need to have a qualified Trend Reversal Indication, Trend Reversal Confirmation or both. Meaning the 3 of 3 items need to be true for one or both. If 3 of 3 items are not true for one or both, then of course we never had a true Trend Reversal Indication in the first place. I will not post a chart on this as they are both described in this same post above.

The 2nd thing that needs to happen is that the AO has to have gone from agreeing with the ST to disagreeing with the ST and a new ST dot has not formed.

The 3rd thing that needs to happen is that the close of any bar after the AO disagrees with the ST closes above/below (based on direction) the ST dot. We will consider that the trend is going to contiune in it's previous direction.

Hmmm, could be that you are right. My concept was that close of bar higher than red dot negates ANY trend reversal signal and so we dont need to look for AO green (which right now, ironic, is green). I guess when guru Damon :will speak we`ll find out.

Thank you for the new version of the Spreadsheet.
I have been entering my several trades but find that when I press the "Get Daily Status" button nothing happens....should it? or is there more work in progress? Or am I missing the obvious?

Hi attictrader,

I just verify and I think that it's working well.

  1. Enter your trades (open or Pending) in each pair,
  2. back to the Main Menu and Press "Daily Status"
  3. in this sheet press "Get Daily Report",

When you press GDR key the spreadsheet execute a Macro updating a dynamic table and from these new table obtain the information for the report that you seen in the sheet Daily Report.

Please let me know if you have any problem...

Hi all,
Looking at USDCHF today, I had this as an EES1 LONG entry which didn't trigger....the bar is now lower than the set-up bar (11 mar), the NL is pointing down and the AO is now green (different to the set-up bar). Should this be the state of play at the end of the day, does this mean a Trend continuation tomorrow and cancellation of all LONG orders?

thanks for reply....I have done the above but I reckon the Macro is not functioning.....I have checked that I have enabled the macros

I would say to just to adjust your long prending EES, not delete it.

Not so TF.....

1st, we need to have a Trend Reversal Indication that means in this case a red ST dot and a NL closing in yellow. We have that.

2nd, we need the ST dot to go from agreeing with the AO back to disagreeing with the AO. This means that the AO would have been red sometime after the red ST formed. This did not happen, but it is still okay because it never agreed with it in the first place.

3rd, The AO and the ST dot need to disagree. This is true because right now the ST dot is red and the AO is green

4th, the bar is going to close above the most recent ST dot.

I think it would be safe to say that we should cancel all short orders and continue placing long trades according to the rules.

On the contrary AT......

We have an ST dot that has closed in green, and the AO should close in green. This is our signal for the Trend Reversal Trade.

Based on what the EU did today and the signals we are getting there you could trade on the fact that the NL closed in yellow again and turned down, but I would be more apt to wait until the bar closed below the last position of the ST dot.

You could go short (riskier), but you would keep your long trade in tack for sure.

And by rule, yo uwould not enter another EES trade until the first one triggered. Today's trade did not trigger so you would not place another EES trade long base on today's Tredn Reversal Signal (TRS).

However, you could cancle yesterday's order and place one at today's order, but this is the spot where are positions are most at risk, so it would be okay to keep our order farther away.

Good analysis, you seem to understand things very well. . One thing however is that you don't have to adjust your initial EES trade long trade for the newly signalled EEs trade. I usually don't, as this takes enough time as it is. I just let the last one ride and see what happens.

hi damonl great stuff i am currently in a nonlag reversal long with audusd from 3/11, today i set a pending long for a dptt trade which was triggered.
now my question is should i leave my stop at .9147 which is the low -1 of 3/11 or should i move it up to the low of 3/12 which is .9275

This is an excellent question.

You want to give your trade room to breath..

You should leave yesterdays S/L where it is. You will not move this order up until you get a signal for an exit. You can familiarize yourself with the exit strategies, but I would shy away from the Early Exit Strategy unless we are in a rangin market. I would say that we are still trending, possibly however going into a consilidation.

I always leave my S/L orders where they are until I get a signal from Exit signal #2, #3 or #4. Very rarely will I use the Early Exit Signal to exit the market.

Let me know if you have any questions on the Exit Strategies.

Of course, today's order you will follow the same rules as above.
