TestGenerator: no history data

Hi there,

Ok, this may be a stupid question but I can't find the answer anywhere.

I just discovered the VHands trading simulator and when I run it on Windows XP everything goes OK.

BUT, When I switch to Linux (I run Metatrader [Alpari] using Wine) and I hit the start button, the charts only shows "Waiting for update" and I get the message " TestGenerator: no history data 'EURUSD1' ". I went to history center and manually imported the data from Alpari's web site and nothing happens. No matter what pair/time frame settings, I keep getting the message "TestGenerator: no history data..."

I'm doing exactly the same I did when I was in Windows but I can't make it work. I downloaded NorthFinance demo but nothing changes.

I searched the forum and there was only a few posts about this problem but no solutions. Google returns only a few results in english and the rest is all russian, so I don't know what to do...

Any ideas....?

I get a similar error unless I uncheck the 'Use date' checkbox. Then it runs ok. Unfortunately this eliminates the chances to do proper back testing with in and out of sample datasets.

I go to the history center and choose to download the data first though.

Thank You Archilles Heel & Forexfactory.com! I had the same problem, just like trading - somethings work only when you do just the opposite! (Disconnecting Internet makes it work)
