I want to start an open discussion about "automated trading" programs. This is not limited to MetaTrader or TradeStation or any other autotrader out there. What I really want to know is that: Why do you believe "automated trading" is better/worse than manual trading? Why do/don't you practice "automated trading"? What kind of "automated trading" program is really tradable? Is it a good idea to use such systems and why? And any other relevant topics.
Thanks ahead for your participation.
BTW, my answers are as follows:
I do believe in "automated trading" because it reduces the number of mistakes due to emotions and it's also a mechanical approach to trading (I'm a fan of mechanical trading).
I would trade an "automated trading program" if it incorporates risk management and money management techniques along with a reasonably successful system.
It is a good idea to use such systems because of their prompt decisions, following a trading system with no errors, almost eliminating the emotional decisions, and their ability to trade 24 hours with no exhaustion.
I respect manaul trading and I do manual trade. I don't believe that machine can 100% replace human beings. Even a good automated system is the result of hard work and intelligent decisions made by professional analysts, programmers, and traders. However, an automated trader can help you to increase your income significantly and enhance your trading performance. For some people it can completely replace their manual trades.
What do you think?
