I am out of all short positions for overnight. 10 lots off 210.85 , 10 off 211.4 , both closed 210.50. I thought that I would get to 209.5.... but markets seem to be in tight range at the moment.

Tomorrow will re-evaluate... I am thinking a down day on the DJ-30 and hence GBPJPY , but in these market conditions anything could happen to change that train of thought.

The price has dropped under the lower trendline of the pennant on the 15min and as I type a 10 , 20 , 50 simple moving average bearish stack is forming with the 20sma just dropping under the 50 sma.


FTSE100 trading right on its open range low ( open range being the high and low a time period at market open .. for forex I use 15 min , for stocks and indices 30 min ... go to www.marketgauge.com for open range trading info and a free e-book called trading the 10 o'clock bulls) and likely to break down lower later taking the futures with it and hence theGBPJPY.

Futres seem to be finding support on low of day on dj-30 at 12260. with R at 12320.

Longs .... just a note..there was massive bear divergence on rsi14 off that double top at 211.4 tonight on a 15 min chart (see 2nd chart) . On double tops and bottoms I look for these on all times frames. If they are there trade them. They work 99% of the time (this comment aimed at newbies). I went short off 211.4 price level.

On the 60 min double bottom at about 210.2 there is a bear div on the rsi14 also. The rsi is lower on the last low than the previous low. These can play out also meaning we have lower to go yet.

Price failed to establish over london pivot. If price retest 1h support and turn it into resistance this could turn out to be a good move for the downside.

My worthless opinion ofcourse.

just curious as to what caused people to be "long" here. i just havent been convinced nor have i had a long signal. charts are bearish to me long term.

could possibly be getting ready to see 200 soon..U/J has broken its rising wedge which is very bearish...g/j is forming a rising wedge..thinking unless we break 214 we will be going down again soon... any thoughts?

just a simple setup. 1-2-3 on h4, enter on a break of 2... while a break of 1 should nullify this setup.

Hi guys,

We are in range.....so the Beast goes whereever she likes

So no new positions....and stay with the old ones and tight SL for short term...or your usual for longer term

Nothing else to say .....no magic indicator or MA or fib or whatever....and we are friday..but Beast may wake up then ride her up....

Nice one, Scrat. Especially since that is at S/R level of 211.45ish level. You always want more that one reason to take a trade, the more the merrier.

Scrat, let me show you a nice Price Action set up that I missed.

Inside Bar and a break of the trendline. Having more then one reason to take a trade, increases the probablility of that trade.

i just showed another 1-2-3 setup, but this time a bearish one.
i'm not saying that every one works, but most of them do.
my point was, g-j is in a critical point right now...
now, what i think... is that we will probably see it going high. my stochastic shows a hidden bullish divergence (although not confirmed), and since the trend is still up i think we might see some nice action later on.
as for the possible dip, i have attached another chart, with a trendline and my support line from 209.60 - which may be tested, of course... but i believe it will hold.

1-2-3 setup work better when they are at the end of trend or at swing high/lows.
