1KT

This idea about vouching into some sort of a "priveledged" club here is not very wise and was this way from the very beginning. Really experienced traders need no ones' confirmation or approval to generate own ideas and to implement them. I don't think that anyone's opinion whether this person is 1KT or 10KT or even 100KT member will ever be able to make my own trading better or worse or to affect it in some way. The only good thing about such forums is that newbies can learn from the experinced traders, but in this 1KT idea case they get cut off automatically from participating in "professional" discussions. Other than that it's good for nothing. Leopards don't hunt in herds and because of that the crowd of 1KT members is no better than any other crowd.

The point of the 1kt room as I understand it was to have a place where more experienced(not necessarily profitable) traders could go and have fluid conversations. If you have spent time on the public side you get many nice looking threads that are then flooded with either A. the same questions B. such garbage that the thread dies or C. a host of other reasons. So the thread just can't carry on in an intelligent manner for most of us. Of course there are many exceptions, but certainly the exceptions are not the norm.

The 1kt room is a good concept, but unfortunately has a lot of kinks that need to be and hopefully can be worked out. Too have a forum where you can go and have threads that can continue to grow intelligently is nice. And I also think for new traders it can be an excellent resource to find the opinions of those that have been around longer. I certainly would have liked a room where I can then judge whose opinion I want to listen to out of a more defined group, when i first got to the FF. Instead I had to go through just about every post 100 times to figure things out on my own. FF is now even bigger, making this an even larger task if you are just stumbling into this world.

Even more so, those that guided me in the beginning, a large majority have moved on or post no where near to what they used to. And that just plain sucks for those that will never stumble onto all the value they were sharing. Can you blame most of them? The same posts day after day, the same questions answered a million times, but now at an exponential pace. The 1kt room was in my opinion a way to try to hold the attention of those more experienced a bit more, a place where even if they got sick of many threads they would still chime into discussions, and holding their value to this forum. It seemed to work very well in the beginning and I was certainly visiting it everyday. Will it work in the end, I guess only time will tell as it had started to fall apart greatly from the original concept IMO.

With that said the FF will only continue to grow and I will continue to visit any thread that appears and catches my interest. As I think most will.

It's moderators' job to deal with garbage and stupidity on any forum. It's also much easier and more effective to ban a single troublemaker than apriori suspect anyone who doesn't have 1KT experience in his natural inability to produce good ideas or to post making sense comments from time to time. For me any FX crowd is good only for one thing - figuring out general sentiment for acting on the opposite side of it. For this purpose a crowd of 1KT members is even better than a herd of complete newbies because newbies usually simply trade into the trend they see with their own eyes while the "masters" mostly tend to predict reversals and fail most of the time.

If you think 1kT (or whatever) is dumb, just ignore it!

The only sad thing is that most of the 1kt members have nothing to contribute in the Trading Room or simply do not do so (the former being the most likely) yet go about requesting to be vouched for in order to stumble around the factory screaming "It will go to x.xxxx now" / "Yes the news will be good, green = good, red = bad" / "If you go long you will win".

Other than that, some of the contributions in the trading room have been awesome but most have been mundane and useless for any trader pro or noob.

So good job overall, and well done on the new 4 vouce rule, seems like a good medium strength filter but obviously "the packs" slip the sieve.

Truth be told, I requested 1kt (yes, I went in that little thread and asked) just so I could try and correct someone who posted something patently wrong in the 1kt forum. So as we can see, 1kt is definitely far from reproach or needing oversight. Is it a viable idea? I like to think so, but I can't honestly really support my own claim.

I firmly believe that at a certain point in your trading career it switches over to a sort of "doctoral thesis". You get to the point where you go out on your own path and discover new things at your own direction. The catch with 1kt as I see it, is that it's an attempt at trying to retain these people. In all honesty, why do I want to interact with these 1kt people if I've already found my niche and am digging away at it, just as they have their's? It can prove amusing yes, but as has been pointed out, nothing truly productive comes of it, not in the terms of the original intentions (from what I can make of it).

All of that being said, I still enjoy the amusements of this forum and I definitely do still find help in the MT4 section of the forum (thanks Magnumfreak!), but definitely not in the 1kt side of things.

I don't believe Merlins concept of "1KT" was about Scalping or Swinging Or even Position.

I do believe it was about giving birth to a venue of resource.

Which he has done.
Now it's just a matter of time until... His Investment Shows Profit!

Personally, I am becoming More Interested in the 1F the more quiter it becomes.

I believe that it was intended for the 1kt crowd to share their more "nurtured" and developed ideas, as compared to just merely sifting ideas back and forth. Of course, that's just my opinion.

I see it as all that and more.

It can work as a pretty effective bull$h!t filter for noobs like me and the new four-vouch requirement has patched a few holes. It's all good.
