:: Successful Journal Traders ::

My question is does anybody make live trades based on reading any of the journals here? And if so, who do you follow? And if you do, why? And finally does anybody admit being influenced by any of the journals here? Simply, you don't trade blind but you do take in to account the journal writers' or writer's views. And if so, which journal or journals? I know nobody will use mine (I hope - I'm in the trading toilet) and I haven't a clue.

I only really expect a couple of posts here unless there's one journal that stands out as consistently profitable. IMO most people won't admit to trading blind.

Rather than start another journal I thought I'd use this one occasionally.

I agree. But signal providers are breeding like rabbits. Some may view journals as an alternative?

Not one person trades live or even admits to taking in to account the journal writers' views at the great threads above? They are the top three journal threads with over 370,000 views between them. All have been updated today.

I find that amazing. I've followed them all and trades have been influenced by them. Not recently - but nevertheless I'll admit it.

I trade live but do not base any of my trades upon anything but the rules of the strategy I trade. In the first thread you reference, well, I have read it and found it quite interesting, but only as a mental exercise, and certainly wouldn't base any trades off of it. I haven't read the second or third threads and can't comment on them.

Anybody else?

I trade based on my charts and system. I don't make any trades based on what others are doing ... if you do that, you will start doubting yourself. I read what other have to offer as a opp. to learn. It is interesting reading why others make the trades that they do ... but I take everything with a grain of salt.

I do my own thing but do take into consideration the Elliot Wave Analysis of Fixmeonetoo from the Elliott Wave Theory thread.
If his analysis has predicted a big move and I've got an entry in the same direction I will more likely move my take profit to grab more pips and risk being stopped out at breakeven than I would have without it.

We now have myself and AdamFx being influenced by the journals here. Anybody else?

It may not seem logical but IMHO to be influenced by the Journal trades of others will in the long run hamper your own trading. 2nd guessing yourself is not healthy for your trading acct.
I tend to ignore most journals after a cursory read. I have also started to no longer read the post in the discussion area , i.e. Daily Cable Analyses, reson being it may sway how I think and I do not want that.
There may come a time that I stop reading FF altogether on a regular basis because of this exact issue and have already started to limit much of my reading to a few threads in the Trading Systems area, Beginners area cause I may be able to assist noobs, and of course the 'Comedy Club" thread in the members area.
Somedays, like today, I have time on my hands and just browse whatever is in the 'New Posts" link.

I am going to run out and throw all this information on a chart and start trading. I am seeing pips rolling into my account as I speak, or type. Right now I am looking for the sarcasm indicator, anyone have a link?

Seriously. There are a few journals and threads I read. I have learned a lot from those. Some of the trading styles I have incorporated into mine and it is alll working well. But as to trading or general direction of the charts I leave that to the biggest journal in the Forex universe that only one I can read for this information. The 1000's of hours of my own chart watching and experience.
