i do not know whether i will trade it, or some variation of it.

I do.
I've built a kind of 'perimeter' system using it.

Keeps those pesky neighbours from spying!!!
Ever alert for the call to action!!

I set up an EA that does exactly this last year. I have the option to double, triple, quadruple, or whatever you want to do to the hedge. At the time I thought there was no way it could lose. Unfortunately if your stop out range is low(ie 10 pips) currencies bounce off it way too much and quickly hit your final trade. Increasing it forces it to move too far to TP. I did everything I could to make this work and it just doesn't over time. I sure wish it did though.

Krumnner, would you care to post your EA... I use hedging exclusively and am always interested in EA's of this type. I never use EA's that deal with picking a market direction and executing orders. So something like what you have here, would be interesting to check out. If you don't mind of course.

Thanks,
MM

I'll have to go through it and do some updating. I've gotten a little better at MT4 since then but I'm still not super.

If anyone didn't know, Build 201 will not recognize anything time related if you're using CurTime( ). It's been replaced with TimeCurrent( ).

Thanks for the heads up on that. No prob regarding your EA... let me know if you're looking for anything (maybe code for your mods). I've got a few you might find interesting.

You can use hedge in the same pair and dont use more stoploss, but you need always a good margin.

What are you need?

Kind regards,

Marcelo Marques

Double? Triple? Quadruple?

Too high for my taste.... I guess you saw in my post that I enter the bare minimum required to make a tiny profit..... not 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, etc.

Also, using a volatile pair with low margin and low spread makes things interesting.

NZD/USD = $1.70 contract margin, 4 pip spread.

I don't know how deep it could go or what kind of buffer you'd need. What I do know with traditional martingale is the DD is insane.

1 lose = -10
2 losses = -30
3 losses = -70
4 losses = -150
5 losses = -310
6 losses = -630
7 losses = -1270

The hedge I posted has a max DD of -290 after 7 losses.

Again, not sure what I'll do with this.
