Let's take an objective look at Iraq's economy, and moral considerations of profiting from the Dinar.
The Economy:
I recently saw on the BBC that Iraq has grown their "stock market" from 12 to 60 publicly traded companies in recent months. From a shrewd investing perspective, the risk to reward could be quite attractive. I am thinking of this from an investment (not trading) perspective, where a few million Dinar today could be worth quite a bit more 10 to 15 years from now. The cheap price of Dinar make this very interesting.
The Moral Consideration:
Is there anything wrong with buying a country's currency that is hosting a battleground, and going through chaos and hardship? A part of me think that buying Dinar does nothing except boost their economy.... that paying for Dinar only strengthens it.
The other part of me thinks that I am capitalizing on a wounded dog.... that I am feeding off the hardship of others. It's rather undeniable.
What do you guys think? A) Is it a good investment? B) Is it unethical to play the Dinar?
I'd love to hear all points of view.
