basically i picked these settings so i could make a winner from every trade, or most trades

iv lost enough tonight

demo sucks

demo data isnt real, not sure if theres a plot there or what

demo freezes at news, real account dont

demo missing chunks of data
i think they do this to screw up any test you do

cant trust indies with missing data

lots of data missing on m1
not always but iv seen it

i only test on data from my real account

i wouldnt trust demo for charting
crappy server

That's cuz ur in Florida or something. You need to come to Oregon - we have good beer. I am a professional taster of sorts. I taste it for awhile and then after a few hours I really don't anymore.

Hi Masters

I have been reading posts but i haven't find best settings for 1 hr.If supernova working on 1hr/4hr what is the best settings?Please don't hit me ı'm just trying to find optimum settings.15 min is good for fast entry and exit but it can give more false signal than higher time frames.

Hi SuperNovae,

I am releasing Beta 4 of the SuperNova EA with the following additions:

1. A new LaguerreCross condition has been added for entries and exits per Glenn's request. It does not replace the current LaGuerre condition. Both are now available. Both share the same Gamma settings, though if users want separate setting, that is possible. My reasoning was that the settings appear to always be the same in Imran's use of LaGuerre and also that most users would choose to use these conditions mutually exclusively. The idea is the when the entry Laguerre crosses over the exit LaGuerre, go long and vice versa for short. In addition, I confirm a signal if both values are pegged at 1.0 for long and 0.0 for short. There is another way we could do this, but we will need to do some testing to determine the best method. The other method would be to confirm on one LaGuerre simply being above the other (depending on intended trade direction). This is less strict than the actual cross, so is worth considering.

2. I have added a CheckConfirmingTF boolean value that when true uses the ConfirmingTimeframe value to determine if a signaled trade is in the direction of the confirming trend. For example, the user could require that all 4HR trades be in the direction of the D1 trend.

3. Start and Stop time functionality has been modified so that when the time falls between the 2 values all EA functionality is active. When time falls outside the values, all EA functionality is active except for new orders. So all exits and money management continue to work, but no new trades will open. These times are broker based, not local.

Matt, I am still testing your non-standard time periods, but could not finish it for this release. Sorry about that.

Please let me know if I have broken anything or if any of the new code is not working as you expect. After this (and possibly Matt's time periods), I would like to freeze the code for new features. Let's refine what we have and determine it's strengths and weaknesses. After this analysis, we will turn toward improving Money Management to improve profitability and reduce drawdown.

Thanks for all the changes and it does not matter if the little extra feature takes a bit longer.
Taking trades with the long term trend is really beautiful and I hope it'll just work out instantly - wanna use it!!!!

Hi Matt,

I am still testing this. My tests are encouraging, but I do not want to add too much at a time for fear of destabilizing the EA. It's still on the drawing board, though.

Hey Rick!

No problem there and you are right, after cleaning it up it would be mildly less then clever to disturb the order again!
Is there anything you want me to start on?

Hi Matt,

Let's first make sure the original functionalty is unaffected. Maybe some parallel tests with beta 3. Then let's see if the new features help. The LaGuerre is an especially tricky beast. Lots of potential, but it makes my brain hurt

My last few trades using beta3 were all positive and I am duplicating them using beta4 but with the addition of TF confirming.

Since there are sooooo many settinhg to tinker with, maybe a more organized approach to testing would be useful. I saw this method used with another EA and, although the EA was crap and the plan fell apart, the methodolgy was sound.

What they did was set up a free PHP forum where volunteers could sign up as testers. Each volunteer was assigned a set file with different settings and MT4 was configured to regularly posts its results on a web site. The same margin settings and account size were used to keep the results relavent to each other.

Think this idea has any merit?

Let us coordinate this together with FXTradera who was hinting at an organized approach yesterday. I will have more time from tomorrow on and would like to harmonize the efforts too.
