I knew about Forex because one of those informercials on TV, there was a colombian guy saying that with his archi-power-magic-miraclous system everybody could make a fortune in a couple of months. The system included 2 CD and a book for something like $2,000 in comfortable little payments for the rest of your life. Then I researched about forex but never about that system, and here I am lol.
As somebody stated before, people selling signals, systems, etc. are most in the sales business than in forex... is like the guys selling lucky charms to atract money, and they are very bad dressed standing in a cheap market...
If somebody knows something that works to make money just make money with it, and share with others for free or at a marginal value that cover the costs, no need of struggle trying to get little bucks of other people...
Whether you believe you can do a thing or not, you are right.
It never ceases to amaze me how people are so easily duped into believing that trading, of any kind, is "easy."
These infomercials are incredible. Imagine if one night you saw an infomercial for becoming a doctor overnight. They could show some Joe-Schmoe looking guy performing an appendectomy.
Surely everyone watching would roar with laughter at the absurdity of the situation, yet a lot of people don't even think twice about forking over THOUSANDS for systems! Think about it. SYSTEMS.
Education, nah! Screw it! Let's just buy a system and I will go from the trailer park to St. Tropez by this time next year!
Sadly this is what happens. And it will continue to happen.
I feel fortunate to have learned how to trade coming from the school of thought that preaches risk management, doing your homework, and not violating the rules you setup for yourself.
Please, take it from those of us who have been doing this and have some experience, even if riches come very quickly, they will disappear even faster if you do not have a handle on realistic expectations. This is evidenced by the ridiculous rate of attrition on the trading forums online where some people show up and brag about their ridiculous success (which can often be true) only to blow their accounts and, not surprisingly, slink back into the shadows never to post again.
Happy trading, enjoy the ride, live to learn, learn to live!
I was watching one of those infomercials... I don't even remember what it was called, but they showed screenshots of their package, and all it was, basically, was a chart with MACD and Stochastic indicators on it. Nothing anybody couldn't figure out for themselves with a little bit of research, IMO.
