I have recently attended two "seminars" (sales pitches) for two forex systems that are advertised on informercials. Does anyone have any opinions on these systems? I just signed up so I'm not sure if this is an ok question or not. I'm sure someone will tell me

It is fine to tell us what the systems were... to describe them does not endorse them... please no links though... Scott

There is one such system which has one good point to it. It looks at the data from a totally different perspective and it can often show you a strong trend developing before it actually shows as price change. However, athough this is a useful feature, I am not sure that it is worth the price.
In other words, some systems may have something to offer which is different from what you get from standard technical analysis.
I hope that this helps at least a little, and addresses the question you ask. Of course, I may not be talking about either of the systems you are talking about.

I think it would be ok to at least say the NAME of the system...everyone is talking so generally...we could be talking about ANY system out there. "As long as you don't try to push it and say it's the best thing since sliced butter, but please list me as a referral and here is the link", I think it's safe to say.

People give opinions on different brokers, systems, groups, websites all the time here...and believe me, any more information you can provide would be picked up on the radar by someone who is either interested or knowledgable and provide at least some feedback...At this point, I have no clue as to what the heck you guys are talking about.

Yea of course the names.

I agree, how can the system be discussed intelligently otherwise?

Check for those names in the search function on the forum. There has been a good amount of discussion re the one that is 'made easy'. As I recall there is a member who bought the system and has very informative insights.
Some of us like me got our forex start by going to the seminar as a strictly informational experience.

The names of the two systems are Forex Made Easy and Premier Forex Trading. Are there more than two systems on infomercials?

Wasradar:

Don't want to pop your bubble but is the 411. Saw their informercial on TV and decided to go check it out. I went to their free all day seminar. This was last year. The place was packed. So out of curiosity I ask the clerks that were taking names at the door before the presentation. "Tell me as any of those guys up at the podium ever traded before?" She said "no way!, they are actors and all they do is try to convince you to buy a $4000 software". I starting laughing because it was hilarious. I went inside anyway just to hear their sales pitch. Standing room only. After awhile during the presentation I started to ask questions. The ones that no one was asking. Some of the question they could not answer. They just say to contact their help line and they can answer them. So I started asking about loses. Well they did not believe that their system suffer from loses. Now I been trading stocks for ten years and I know that you will have loses. Nothing is fool proof. Next thing I knew some guys I guess where their security or hotel personnel ask me to leave because I was disrupting their seminar. I was just asking question about their product. So I left.

After that I went to a "forex made easy" user club here in town. A pretty big crowd I might add. I started asking question about the software. They know their software but one problem. Half the group as not made any money trading forex. For 2 years! The other half have made or lost money. The ones that made money did not made enough to cover expenses. So I ask them why do they keep paying a monthly charge for something that does not make any money? These poor folks believe so much in this product that I thing they are brainwash. Ever been to a Amway meeting? So if you see something on TV late night about how to make a million just switch channels. They are just selling dreams.

I believe there is enough free info on this forum to make you a better forex trader. I join this forum about a month ago after looking for better unbiased info of forex trading. Trading forex is a hell of a lot different than trading stocks. So far the lesson I learned here has made me money.

Cheers.

Good Info here, Johnny...

Always be skeptical...if someone says it'll solve your problems on it's own, trust me...it's a hook designed to catch you, slice you open and fry you up for their enjoyment.

Hey, but maybe you could learn some basic info (like what the forex is about, what moves the market, candlesticks, whatever)...you may not want to be involved in purchasing a system, but you may find SOME information for free.

I like the seminars ... I still go today for free snacks, food, drink, and information. Take some notes talk to the people around me. Then I head home and jump on the internet and lookup items from my notes and anything helpful I took away from the seminars.

Happy Trading ....

I first learned about the forex by going to one of those seminars. I actually would have forked out the funds if I would have had them at the time. I was even calculating the available room on the small credit cards that I had (19 at the time). Three years after hearing the pitch that would've "put me on a yacht" by now I have to say it was by grace alone that I can happily say I'm glad I didn't. The only thing that I am now is curious... but uh.. does anyone want to pay 4,000 (OR 2,500 ONLY FOR YOU IF YOU BUY RIGHT NOW!!!) cash to or would they rather keep their cat? I've learned more trading a demo account and some small live trading while researching and reading (anything that came from someone who looked like they knew what they were talking about) than I ever could have by lighting my money on fire. After recalling the "easy" system at a seminar, I'm pretty convinced you could rig a pretty comparable system on a platform you could get for free.

So to keep from rambling, type your system into a search engine and spend a half an hour reading, it's better than spending something else. Write down how many positive results you find compared to negative. There's your answer. Even if it's true that it's 5 times more likely for people who are upset to post something compared to those who are pleased, you'll be lucky to find that.

But I thank them, because if it wasn't for the path that led me to them, I wouldn't be on the path I am now.

Jax-

100% Right!

The Infomercial-Gurus are in the Business of Sales not Forex.

I bet no matter how crappy the product, they do make good money from the late night TV owls.

Johnny, that was a very intresting story there...when I get the time, I' will go out to one of these in my neighborhood and ask a few challening questions of my own...and perhaps even take some real material to me and pass it out to some unsuspecting folks for free...if anything, to get them to raise some hard-hitting questions on their own.

I feel bad for those people, but thats the price you pay to be sold a dream in just hours that actually takes a whole lot of time to reach.

I went to Forex Made Easy when it came to town.... it was geared to the naive non-trader....

"MA on the daily makes railroad tracks pointing to 2 PM"

Of course, they only show you were it worked, not where it didn't. I nearly lost my lunch, and had to leave early.

I was in Toronto when I saw a 4Xmade_ _ _ _ commercial and I attended. When the seminar was over, I asked the speaker some questions about the forex and then realized that he was AN IDIOT! (and this is being polite).

I did my research about the company, read all of the negative comments and I was pushed away by the amount of lawsuits that were files against the company. Reminded me of Wade Cook.

Forex Made Easy is a joke. They charge $4,000 for a software package that is 4,000 times less powerful than MetaTrader, a totally free software package.
