I have been trading the "pullbacks in a trend" for a while. I prefer to use "counter-trendline" break to enter after the pull back, like your charts show. It work for those who trade short term swings.

Hi guys,
i am a new member here but i have been around following the thread and the corn flower system, one of my frineds recommened it for me! and i must say it's a gr8 system! i am still in the demo phase and i am experimenting around with it...just decided to open my posting account with this qs...

lever 70 in your first post you suggest that the cornflower system should be used in the 1 hr to 30 min time frame...

here is a 5 min TF of gbp/usd a few mins ago...

now if you see the recatngled areas show the bounces and pull backs the cornflower ssytem is supposed to reap profits from....my qs is when this system is equally appliacble in the 5 min TF why not try it out in these TF's...i read in your first post that the shortter TF's are avoided to avoid many "whipsaws" later on you also mentioned something abt the system being effective if some light is shed on the shorter TF's too...i would like you (or ofcaorse anybody else) to shed of some knowledge please!

I have used the CF on the 5M TF with success. I also used the 5M in conjunction with the 15M, 30M and the H TF's. When all four TF's lined up, I would place the trade. I prefer now not to use anything less than 15M, and have been working on using the 4H TF with the 1H and 15M TF's to determine entry points.

hat's off to this system, gave me 60 pips today after that friday downfall of the gbp/usd.....as expected the cable found some resistance at the 72 EMA (specially in the 30 min TF)

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone that is still pondering this thread could explain how you guys make interpretations on entering the trade on a lower time frame once you have found a setup on the 1 HR.

I noticed a lot of the post have used the lower time frames as a screen. Example would be that you have a pull back to the 12 and 24 area then they check the 5 mins to see when it is ready to pull the trigger.

So do you look for say in a down trend for the 5 min moving averages to all be below the 72 and pointing down or is there some other specific? Ive never really been able to understand taking the seperate time frames and basing a decision because they always seem to be showing two different directions until its too late to get in? Thanks in advance everyone.

Trends start to build from the lower time frames. I use the 5M TF for confirming the trend on the 15M (the 15M is the TF I prefer to use for most of my entrance decisions.)

I like to see a strong trend on the 15M. I consider the trend to be fairly strong if the candle closes after crossing the 72 and the other three ema's are lined up in the direction of the trend (I also want to see at least two of the ema's have crossed the 72.)

I would suggest picking one or two currency pairs (GBP/JPY, GBP/USD, EUR/USD are good to start with) and following them for several months. While the Weekly and Daily charts won't change much, the 4H, 1H, 30M, 15M, and 5M should give you a good feel for each individual pair. You will find that after a while, some TF's will work better for your eyes than others (some traders make their decisions on the 5M chart while others use the Daily or Weekly, and you will find followers of every other TF in between.) Purchase some notepads (I buy them by the dozen) and take copious notes. The more you do now, the better it will be later.

A recent review of lever70's and linuxtroll's past writings on Guppy style Multiple Moving Average (MMA) templates inspired a "rainbow" version for my own use.

There appeared to be some advantages to having fine measurements, similar to the markings on a ruler. Across different time frames, a clear picture can emerge.

all can you guys tell me if this is a valid entry per this system i went short on the down red bar off the 24 ema and still below the 72 ema. im looking at t apossible break of the lower TL. again this is a 1 hr pullback entry.

Hi Enoc. I personally wouldn't trade this. Basically its ugly. The mavs aren't smooth and pointing in the direction you want it to go. Sure the mavs are in order, but if you look at the 4 hour time frame with the same template you'll see its curving around and heading up.On the 1 hour its making higher lows and higher highs. Hope this helps.

Hi there, I'm new to the thread but have been working my way through the entire thread. I couldn't download Lever's PDF or the one at RebateFX and would massively massively appreciate it if anyone can provide a copy that is possible to access.

I've been trading FX a while using my own discretionary system but have to say that the CF way is very good so well done to you Felicia.

I will be trading live with it shortly once I get through the thread and will be happy to share the experience and a bit of banter with anyone else out there. I live in the UK and work as an Investment Manager with Bloomberg as my tool so am able to trade in GMT.

Hi stumpy! sorry i won't be able to help you much with your query, (more guys here would prove to be of better help i am sure) but i agree with you that the thread has gone very quiet! wonder where is everybody, actually saw it back up amongst the popular system threads after months!

hey just wanted to share something with ya'll, the system is mainly intended for the 1H (i'm talkin' abt the pull back startgey) i see that it works absoluetly fine with the 4H, infact i have been using the 4 hour to consistenlty reap upto 40-50 pips in each of my 4H trades! so it is'nt a bad idea to use more tfs then just the 1H, if there is nothing on the 4H which suits my entry rules i atleast get to know the overall zoomed out trend, i even use the daily for the purpose mentioned in the latter part.

have ya'l tried anything diff then the 1H??

I use the 4H TF (with bullrock's calculations of 10, 15, 30, and 90 for the ema's.) If the 4H reveals an opportunity, I use the 1H and 15M TF's to make my entrance decisions.

i think that's actually a better idea, although i have profited with this system on the 4H i often notice i make upto 40 pips per bounce but then most of the times it takes me very long sometimes more thena day to achieve the target, besides i have to risk my little capital in keeping my SL a bit deep in the outfiield, i'll try this stargey out and post the updates soon clansman, thanls for the idea!
