well truth is theres a big party next door, but were waiting on the weed, soon as it arrives il be going

oh i just heard, no weed tonight, but i still wont enter until retracement

Besides having some of the highest spreads in the industry, they tend to even increase those at times of high volatility...not just at news time. And then, of course, there are the mysterious data feed interruptions that regularly occur.


If you are happy with them, then by all means continue to use them. Myself, I am switching to either EFX or Oanada...haven't decided yet.

I, too, am out of weed (medicinal of course). I did, however, buy a 12 pack of beer on the way home from work as I believe beer is hard-coded into TC's EA's. Not real keen on trading just before a holiday but, if the beer and the voices in my head tell me, I might take a small position here and there before nodding off.

I agree with you ... I've tryed something this morning but the signal on 15 min chart was not good as usual ... anyway ... I took the 15 min signal at 9:00 gmt+1 short on e/j but I think I'm trapped in a choppy market just above a strong support (mistake!) ...

Times like this I use to evaluate the different systems I like. Many times it seems like combining elements from these different systems seem to work well.

For example, I use the lags from Imran's system along with the regular supernova indicators and I use BB squeeze with Imran's system.

Good approach there! I have a slightly different solution - I just don't trade the last half of December. I usually start again in January sometime.

I have 50 k to invest so far I had put myself down as a swing trader holding for week or so. I work 9-5 (london time) can view things once or twice a day.

Iv been investing using news letters sharewatch and fool.co.uk one so far not doing too hot about 5k down. At the moment my moneys tied up in Hochschild Mining PLC brough in at 4.70 and its now in the 4.30's so really looking to try find a more user controlled enviroment.

Is this setup doable in the uk?
Could it be worked around a 9-5?
If you were to use 50k slowly on this setup what sort of returns would you expect?
Is there a quick and dirty get upto speed on this, cant say iv ever looked at currencys before

Supernova is as good as any system around BUT....I would trade using a demo account for a couple of months.

i have finally awaken from my drunk lol

trade the daily chart, you dont need so many filters there
heres a chart of a daily system iv been trading
using ha and a 5sma

never enter far away from the ma
place pending order near the ma
check once a day
and dont bet high
pick a pair thats trending

im not guarantying youl succsesfully do this
but its been working pretty good for me

far as % return, that could vary alot

if i were you id trade like .5% or less untill your comfortable
and youve experienced a good draw down

but the question was about MT4 broker. I think Oanda is better, but don't have MT4. Some menbers of this forum (CEO, Tedion) said that is possible to use MT4 with Oanda, but they didnt give details of how to do that.

there were far more problems with North Finance, ODL, FXDD than Interbank. About Alpari i don't know, maybe is better.

Can anyone comment on ODL vs. IBFX?

I have done very well with IBFX demo accounts but lost with ODL real money. I get the feeling ODL has traders taking out my stops even as far away as 200 pips.

Just like my better half.... Good in demo, terrible in live accounts.....
IBFX is notourious for freezing when there are movements, and the server will be done around 10PM EST daily for about an hour [do not recall].

I think if you don't want your stops to be taken out, go with an ECN broker.

When they say "MT4 with Oanada", I think they are referring to opening a demo account with a broker that does use MT4 and using your indicators for buy or sell signals and then entering the order at Oanada using whatever platform they use.

im using ibfx
there the only broker iv ever used
but il share my experiences

i run the demo and live acc side by side
the live acc runs alot better than the demo, demo freexes alot

but my live acc runs just fine
i havent had any problems with it
