Hello to all,

Yesterday i was entered in that gbousd trade, and get out 50 pips. I have used mach more time to think about that entry and decide to setup a TP limit on 50 pip. I win!

About charting and broker:
My broker is FXSol and use FXAccucharts for my chart, but at this moment I use MT4 with Interbank FX as broker for my test trading.

Hi Gmoney...Yes I use MT4 from Alpari for charts. There prices are almost spot on to MBTrading. MBTrading/EFXGroup is launching a new platform this week or next that is quite similar to Oanda...web based.

To "cut losses and run profits" I think a good stratagy may be to keep the 1xATR stop but simply trail it up for every 1xATR move. I mean you really don't know how far price will actually move. That 1xATR will always keep your losses small, but taking initial profit when price may continue much further seems to limit profits. Any opinions?

I think this is really a question that each trader needs to answer. Obviously, trading this system as explained by effilang is designed to satisfy the trader's immediate desire to lock in profits by dropping 50% of your position at 50-100 pips profit and then waiting for the stochastic cross to drop the additional 50%. This is a good compromise that you may see in a lot of trading systems - you lock in some profit, move the SL on the rest to break even and then hope to squeeze some more profit out of the remaining position.

I have tested this strategy on Forextester, and the results are quite good.

over 3 months 6 years ago...what kind of testing is that? To verify if a strategy is worthwhile it has to be cross tested with multiple pairs over time(years).

This is one of my favorite systems due to the fact I can leave one position open for hours and scalp inbetween thanks for the system man its good stuff. Happy Holidays

I have also done it for the past six years, but did not mention that because I used different rules (no re-entries off of the 25 ema).

I agree completely with your point though.

Excellent Effi, I see you're back to the 4hr charts - the 1hr seems to get a bit too choppy for my liking!

Well it depends on the current situation Mark.

Sometimes the range is to tight to apply what we use on H4, so you need to skip down.

Just remember that when you're anticipating a setup, if you want to get in earlier, 1 time frame lower is the maximum you drop down.

Eg. H4 (standard) - drop to H1, D1 (drop to H4 for execution), W1 (drop to D1)

The trades were pretty easy picking, i assume you would have spotted them too.
