I am hoping someone can explain why when you chart chunnel or fiber you can get data back to the eighties? The Euro wasn't in operation then so why is there data?

When the Euro was formed, it was agreed what percentage of the Euro each contributing Currency would be.
From there it is a simple algorithim to run it back as far into history as all contributing currencies existance.
Can't say specifically that this is what your Data Provider is doing but probably something along those lines.
Couldn't figure out how to be Short the DM at transition. Now That woulda been a Great Play.
