iFXanalyzer is written by Renato dos Santos.
It has been slightly adapted and put in Firebird.
Mr. Pip reorganized the code a bit.

I enclosed all iFXanalyzer related stuff.
Also take a look a Relative Vigor Index (part of MT4 standard indicators.
Currently I'm looking at 'Fisher transform' indicators. Beware of backpainters!

I agree with you that risk can't be totally avoided and is part of the game.
But my personal opinion is that float should always be kept at a minimum.
1] Because it gives a better starting point for conditions when trends really get out of hand.
2] Even when the huge float turns into winners it doesn't mean it's very profiteble. If the money wasn't tied up you could possibly have made several winning smaller trades.
3] Huge float earns less when you follow RM/MM rules.
4] The money you set aside to buffer the huge DD that occure once every 100 trades means that that money isn't earning in 99 trades. But smart MM/RM can improve that situation to some extend.

MM/RM is no fix. It's a magnifying glass.
It fools you when testing. It hides the real system performance.
A system should be profiteble without MM/RM. Only then start using RM/MM

MM/RM is not just scaling a few lots as seen in most EAs (but soem MM is a very good start). It's a real art that can get very complex. But it has great advantage. Not only safty wise but also speeding up portfolio growth. There is a lot of info to be found on MM/RM. If you can't find any you can start looking here http://www.adaptrade.com/Articles/article-op.htm Also play with their program. It's awsome.
Also read a bit about Sharpe and/or Sortino Ratio.
It will learn you that decent MM/RM punishes you for having a system with a huge DD. It cuts down the max. allowed lots because it keeps being paranoid about the possibility of the DD.
As an example a huge DD system (with massive gains if it reverses) is allowed to trade 5 lots and and a system that just keeps collecting a few pips in many short lasting trades may be allowed to trade 15 lots just because it feels/is so safe.
So the 'smooth system' collects 3x more $ per pip earned.

You and the gang have done some great work since I last checked out Firebird. Firebird was so great up till the big bull move of a month ago. Do you see it being able to handle the next big move in the market?

FB 3.2 with the hedge orders seems to be handling the market OK last few weeks. Although, holiday weeks is not a good time to critique. Whether it will survive large DD and sharp markert moves is still unknown. I agree with TraderSeven's comments on MM/RM. FB runs best when DD is low. When DD is high, probability of large loses is also high. So I'm coding next FB to close all symbol orders when min profit level is achieved after account equity is above starting deposit.

Willyhopa has been demo testing FireBird V3.2 and this is his link to his auto updating Statement.

Hi all ,

Wish you all a happy new year and alot of pips

I noticed something in the FB .. and wanna you think about it ..
it is allready coded that it close the deals if it take more than 10 days active .

but why not also change the TP point when it take long time ??

for example .. if the deal get normal 30 pips TP .. so FB check after 2 or 3 days if it didnot get that limit then chage the TP to 20 or breakeaven .. so it give some equity to new deals ..

I guess that will be better than just wait 10 days and then close it with BIG negative pips.

That is what I do in my real account .. when the deal take SO long .. I try to close it with less porfit or with breakeven to give a breath to my balance and also donot pay alot of swap with no use.

I've been running Firebird v63G-TS for just over a month now and it's going great, but just this past week it stop making trades on one of my charts (eurusd). ->This happened right after I deleted all the objects on it from the object list.

I opened a new eurusd chart and applied the ea but it still doesn't work. It currently still works on my other pairs though.

Has anyone else run into this problem and or know how to fix it?

You should look in MT terminal submenu "experts" and see if there is a problem with initializing firebird.

Theory is as long as cable is ranging, then it's safer to use FireBird as you're less likely to see those strong market trends that kill the bird. I've only applied this theory to Eur/Aud but it should work for the majors also because if cable ranges, the majors should follow.

Well, I kinda lost interest when I lost 40% of my live account in about a week. That was after three months of testing to gain confidence.

Looking at other methods now.
Don Life is expensive, but includes a free trip around the sun.

I am studying FB. I found a document at http://www.accrete.com/fx-mirror/mt4...ird-doc027.mht that describes the theory behind the EA - however when I download the document the pictures in the document does not display. Can someone maybe convert the document to a .pdf or post a .doc file here - with the pictures.

Would be greatly appreciated

This was the last document written by TraderSeven for the original Firebird EA. Note that it was written for a MUCH OLDER version of Firebird.

Most of the firebird EAs in this forum does not perform averaging for those losing open positions.

I understand from the document is that the EA should modify the TP and SL for those open positions for any new position purchased. Could this be the reason for the large draw down ?

Just wonder are all these EAs consider a true firebird EA ??

Currently I have 2 open orders using Firebird v.63 (with a few mod of mine in the code). The weird thing is that one order is a sell, and one is a buy. Which I do not think FB does on its own, I thought it goes only one direction, long or short, until the trade(s) are closed. They only think I can think of is that I adjusted the settings before the second order was placed. I increased the risk percentage. Am I correct in thinking that every time you adjust the settings, it restarts the EA?? If this is the case, should we fix FB so that when it starts up it scans the open orders to check if it has open orders, and what direction? Wouldn't this code be placed in the

Iam back and looking to run the new FB 3.2....Read the thread, you have made some changes since I was last here...

Any advice for setups..on e/u, g/u, etc.....
