Sorry, I had to run to work. The two ma's on top are 5 smoothed ma, one high and one low. I use them with the heiken ashi. When the price closes below the 5ma it is trending down, and when the price closes above the 5ma it is trending up. It just helps with the trend identification. If you look at the sell arrows [red] when GBP/jpy is trending down [on the daily] they each move quite a ways, when the buy arrows comes up it is just an adjustment [small move]. you can see that the trend is changing by the amount of movement on the sell arrow. It is getting smaller. I know that some people are happy with 20 or 30 pip a day, but this shows you that you can get many more and not have to watch the computer all day.

If it came from the Dolly thread it's lsma- least square moving average- it has to be. I have it.
There is no Isma in that thread that I can find.

Great Trade this morning harold. I really like this strat.

Now that G/U is trending up daily does that mean if we see the same signels like we saw this more on the 1 hour again in the next day or 2 its another buy signal as long as the daily stoc. R up?

On the daily chart, EJ and GU have shown buy signals (5EMA crossed 8EMA, RSI > 50, and Stochs have crossed). Drop to 1H time frame and wait for the same set up to enter long today. I entered long for GU yesterday and manage to TP of 50 pips.

I am fairly new to this forum, so please bare with me if I am asking the obvious.

I've been following this thread for a couple of days now.
Yesterday, as far as I can tell there were a couple of GU trades for some people and one for others. Some were kept out of the first trade (a looser) by the RSI.
On my charts the RSI was 50.1413, so would have been a trade.

My question is, so that we are all on the same page and looking at the same indicator results, is how are the indicators set up
i.e RSI 13 set on Open, Close, High or Low (mine is set on Close)

EMA 8 on Open and EMA 5 on CLose (I think this was made clear from the start)

Stoch 833 set on on what? L/H or C/C with the MA set to what SMA, EMA, SmothMA or LWMA ?

Looking at the daily charts, would we not get different results if our brokers are in different time zones- for instance i use MIG which means my daily candles open GMT+1, for others with diff brokers their daily would open at diff time, giving different indicator results.

Anyhow, this is a good thread and I thank all that are contributing to it

Hi there, just to compare notes with you, on my chart for GU yesterday, there was only 1 signal and my RSI never hit 50.1413, that said my RSI 13 was on default setting i.e. close. I use the very basic Stoch which doesn't come with the setting as you mentioned but the one you used from MT4 platform shouldn't be any much different as well [again with default setting]. As for the time difference issue, perhaps someone else can provide a better answer. FYI I am using Alpari at the moment.

Are you not using the MT4 platform? Alpari are a UK based mob aren't they.

Right I've had another look at the indicators and there is a stoch custom indicator which does have just the basic settings. So i'm using that now.

Here's a picture of my gu 1hr from yesterday with the RSI 13 above 50. I guess diff data suppliers will show diff results in the charts

hi folks back at the desk yes we have 2 signals from daily long gbpusd and long eurjpy the gbpjpy was very close but rsi was at 49. now age 13 to make things easier since brokers have different feeds and all indicators are based off the numbers of that feed since indicators are nothing more than mathmatics i recommend you get a demo from interbank fx i personally trade with rjo fx but my readings from the indicators are extemely close to them maybe your broker isnt 00gmt what that means is they start a new day at 5-6 pm est so data maybe different. as you can see by todaythat price was well supported by the 5ema if you would have waited till one of the indicators crossed to get out that would have been when the stoc close down while price was at top at 208.22 entry was 206.73 a nice 150 i personally set my goals differently but as you can see this style is quite effective and has supported me for quite awhile

do u have signals on your sysytem right now? as we speak? if so what ?/ i dont see any????

didnt you just read my post 2 longs gbpusd and eurjpy look at daily chart of yesterdays candle and you will see all indicators are up

great system so far. do you start anticipating a trend change when the stochastics are deep into overbought/oversold territory, and therefore stay out of the market?

i start to watch the stoc and rsi while i am in trade usually i am out before that stuff happens i look to grab 30-50 a day also i might not take a signal if stoc crosses up for a buy like 85/84 or sell at14/15

Hi Harold, yep I like this system and thank you for sharing it.

I could open a demo acc with interbank i guess. I'm inclined to think though that if i stay with mig then occasionally i will get a signal that you wont have and vice versa, but over enough time it will even itself out.

My daily charts are just showing long for gu and ej like yours and Berts
