GBPUSD has been sorted out during the earlier pages of this thread because of bad results as far as I know.

Hi,

I wonder if anyone who knows his/her way around EA work can screw around with the 30 SL. Maybe try 40....50....greater??
Keep seeing SL trigger then move in right direction.
These pairs subject to big draw-down, but generally move in the direction which they've been told to go....eventually.

Your results look odd to me. The EUR/JPY should have moved the 2nd and 3rd orders to break even after the 15 made its profit. Also your SLs are all different. If you went with the defaults you would have ended up being +20.

EUR/USD +15, +30, +50 (95 pips)
EUR/JPY +15, 0, 0 (15 pips)
USD/JPY -30, -30, -30 (-90 pips)

+20 for the day.

11/25/2007 - 11/27/2007 Total Completed Results

The EUR/CHF seems to be doing well in the 13-17 demos (140 pips).

I expect the totals for each account to remain negative since a lot of pairs wont work well but the 13-17 (columns D & E) accounts have some good numbers for the past 2 days. It will be interesting to see how everything pans out after a month or two.

You may notice that I've removed any results for the EUR/GBP. This is because it doesn't move much and was usually lagging behind. From this point on I have removed the EUR/GBP chart from all demos.

Click on the chart then press the F7 key to call up the ea properties. Change the StopLoss to whatever you want.

I have noticed this as well, Peter, but hadn't got around to experimenting. I have now set all my sl's at 50 on the demo, to see what happens.

I should clarify... I am not talking about the totals for the accounts but rather the amount of green pairs and their numbers in those columns.

If I were to base my decision at this moment I would go with...

EUR/CHF 13-17 (140 pips on each account)
etc.

Of course this is only 2 days of trading so I wouldn't jump on that yet but I am looking to see where the darkest most profitable greens are in the chart and what was the demo/time frame it was run on. I just meant that the 13-17 columns have more greens than other accounts did.

I had to close 6 orders manually today on one of the North Finance demos. I can only assume it is poor performance on their end. The AUD/CAD sell stops and the EUR/USD buy stops were left open after the opposites were already triggered and even long since closed.

Maybe there could be something added to the EA to make sure the orders are actually closed if there happens to be a lag and the orders don't close the first time?

The EA is not moving the Trailing stop correctly when one buy order hits the TP.

Ex - Today the first order hit the TP for 15 pips bit still the next 2 orders hit the SL for -30 pips each.

Is there a settings i should tweak or the code..

Based on your results across various brokers - and using the contrarian nature of the markets (i.e. an initial breakout is often followed by a reversal before the market moves off in the direction of the breakout),

.....why not reverse the way the EA takes trades and set sell orders on the upside and buy orders on the downside?????

I appreciate you only have a few days of data - but I think we will find that many pairs, such as the AUD/NZD, will continue to produce false breaks.

(After all the system has been narrowed down to trading only three pairs - so this may suggest that for the majority of pairs the contrarian approach may be better in the long run).

I am not quite sure which is the latest version of the EA. And in subsequest posts it looks like something is wrong, anyway. Before I start ripping it apart, I will wait for you all to figure it out.

I might just start writing something fresh, however.

Also, I am convinced this is just a trending strategy. Why not just go with
a switch that turns this strategy on an off, given trending indicators?

And why limit yourselves to the profit of 95 pips in GBPCHF (assuming that one used this EA to trade it today)? You could have done much better than that. Check out the "key to the Mint" post.

I think it's an excellent idea. Would the original programmers like to make reverse EA versions? I could always make the change as well if they are busy. I think it's worth trying it.

What I may do is drop the NF demos since I have had some issues anyways. I could run three additional IBFX demos under the same parameters but with reverse orders.

Here it is...

I have modified and tested to make sure orders are opposite and it works. I can post the others in the next day or so if anyone is interested.

I will finish out the week with my current testing and then add the Reverse demos for IBFX and remove the NF demos at the start of next week.

New demos for IBFX reverse tests are 22-17, 13-17, and 08-17. All the settings are the same except orders are reversed.

Will repost when bug is fixed. See post 1169.

The bug has been fixed as of 11/29. This EA is good and will now close pending orders when a Sell Limit or Buy Limit is triggered on the same pair.
