With you ma EA what does the m value mean? and can you add auto MagicNumber(mn) to this EA also?
and is it better to enable EachTickMode?

Oh, and also make the MA variables user changable options for testing different values. and how much different is the MA EA than the one that comes with MT4?

um its completely diferent then the ea with mt4
actually im not firmiliar with that ea but im sure this is diferent
this ea has 2 ma's
one is to the high, if we have a low above it we buy
the other is to the low, if we have a high below it we sell
thats all it does, no close logics
i luckily found good settings in tester, so i posted it
but so far the ea has lost 80% of the account
this ea may just depend on when you turn it on
i dont know
i did extremely over leverage it though
iv had a cold all week and i feel burned out
i might mess with it later

Will the psar ea work without the profile attached? Because I don't know how to set up the profiles. Paris

the prifiles folder is located in program files/mt4/profiles
to use look in the file menu and youl see profiles

the ea works fine without profiles
profiles is just templates

Hi Trend chaser, One question. The regular parabolic sar settings are step .2 and the other is .02. That's default. So to change the properties of the EA do I change .000041 to .02 if I want it the same as default setting on the indicator parabolic sar? The reason why I ask is my chart shows dots going long while I had a trade go off in sell!!! So I changed the properties setting on the EA psar to .02 the way it is in default on the par sar indicator. Is this correct? Thanks, Paris ps

the ea will use its defined settings regardless of what the template has
the settings are displayed on the chart in comments that the ea is using
you need to make the template match the ea
changing the settings in the ea only works if you set auto to false
auto overides the sar settings

that is correct
dont forget to set auto-settings false or it wont work
if you see your settings in the comments on the chart then its correct
the settings in these comments is whats being used
if they dont match then something is wrong
they are not updated till you get a tick of data
so the comments dont change instant but change soon as it gets data from your broker

the templates are already correct
remember auto settings will overide the manual settings you se in the ea properties

Thanks for your answer.

I think I just discovered a bug.

I loaded the PSAR EA on GBPJPY. I set single entry ON and normal entry OFF as I just started it and plan to change it back to normal entry ON after first trade is opened by EA.

Later on, i opened 3 manuel trade on another GBPJPY chart, but 2 of them were closed by the PSAR EA before touching my manually defined stoploss. The closed positions are indicated on the GBPJPY chart for the PSAR EA. Thus, i need to turn off the EA temporarily now for manuel trading. Can you please kindly look into this bug?

Some more question:
What is the duration of the data for optimizing the pairs? Have you done any forward test before you issuing the report in the past 2 weeks? And are you using the PSAR EA live yet? Are the 8 pairs in the profile the most profitable 8 pairs in your back test?

PS. Do we need to do anything else once we set the EA back to normal entry after the first order is opened?

the ea is only a few weeks old
iv been running it live on a demo for 2 weeks

the ea is optimized on 5 months of data
the 8 pairs were the best on the tester

nothing else to do after switching back to normal

as far as the ea closing your manual trades
id recomend running the ea on a seperate mt4 install
i have it coded to check for magic number before closing a trade so i dont know, at 1 time i did use a diferent ea with this as a test and it was fine
maybe its because the manual trades dont have a number?
il look into it, probly a simple error on my part

Hi Trenc Chaser,

I believe the tick mode set to true is not working. I have auto settings on false and the tick mode true. I've changed the properties of the EA to what is default on the par sar indicator which is step .02 and max .2. However it did not open a trade as soon as the dot appeared at the beginning of the candle. Instead it opened a trade at the end of the candle and the trade already lost about 60 pips that it could've grabbed if it opened at the dot at the beginning of the candle. I could manually trade this and close the previous trade at the new dot direction and open a new trade in the new direction. I want the robot to be able to do this so I don't have to check the chart every 4 hours all the time. But the EA opening a trade at the end of candle and not on the dot is no good. Perhaps I should try tick mode false and maybe it'll open a trade at the beginning of the candle where the dot first appears? On the 4 hour , the GBP/JPY made over +15,000 pips profit in the last year all on default parabolic sar settings. Can we have the robot do this? Thanks, Paris

you also have to use normal entry
normal entry is the only mode that looks at the current bar, the other modes look at previouse bar
i just opened a chart and tested this my self
the exact steps i took when applying the ea to the chart were

set psar to 0.02
set auto false
set tick true

normal entry was already true by default
so was psar max at .2

hope this works

you should get a instant order regardless of the dot in which ever direction were going

also notice that on the test, the dot which triggers the trade does disapear
so to manually test this with accuracy youd need visual mode, youd have to pause at each dot
also the spread is a factor and swap to

metatrader for my ibfx does not show swap but it is calculated in the orders

i tested default on h4 for this year
the results was 7eral thousand pips and not 14,000

also on the graph theres over a 3 month period of breakeven

but it did do ok
but im sure theres better settings

i just finished a new version of this ea

heres psarv3.3
i will still run the previouse settings because it is good
the problem with previouse version is you make ur pips from the biggest moves

this new version gives options to make pips in flat markets

iv added 4 envelopes
the defaults are still the same
you can replace the other version with this and theres no diference
the new envelope features are false by default

you have 2 new options
you can use envelopes for entry
or exit
or both

but if you choose to use envelopes for exit only without entry
keep in mind that if your using normal entry that the trade will reopen
immediatly, tick mode is now on by default for better accuracy
so use single entry in this case

if your using both envelope modes then normal entry is the best

the 4 envelopes are for more control over the entries and exits
these are not optimized as i dont think they can be
what you do is look at the chart and set them to current conditions

example: if price gets under the blue line we buy, if psar agrees ofcourse
so we want to tweak this blue line so that its hitting the lows
as best you can

if price gets above dark blue we close
so tweak dark blue to hit the peaks(highs)
as best you can

also you can re adjust psar to improve on this
i see very many possibilities

red and orange for sells

every trend is diferent so you may need to re tweak these lines every few days

i just wanted some kind of template for you

you can manually create these envelopes on your current templates

all envelopes are smoothed and applied to median price

i have no faith in the ma ea
i only posted it cause it showed good in the tester
but its not logical so i dont use it
i did explain this when i posted it

the main ea's i support is psar and beta
im waiting to see what rick does to the beta

the set files and templates for psar is on the first post in a zip file
