How evrything Tkimble. I hope you are doing very well. This system is very logic and its establish method.

But there is 1 serious matter that I very concern of.

How many PIPS that I can put my target for each entry make? Do I have to rely on fundamentals news or indicators or fixed 100pips?

This is very very great swing trader.

Could someone let me know how often they are checking their trades?

Is it once in the morning, and again when they get home at night?
Without fully auto trading this weekly system, are you (or any trader using this system) able to use a broker who allows multiple multiple multiple contingency orders?

Looking for your feedback - my concern is whether I am able to sufficiently manage this system as I of course need to sleep, so will be offline for at least 8 hours per day. Given that an order may be stopped out in a particular direction (and I will already have a pending order for the opposite direction), I'd still need to re-set a new order for the same direction as just stopped out (asap after being stopped out), otherwise I could easily miss the 'big' move for the week.

I'm wondering how you guys are getting around this, or are you finding that 8hrs offline is not really affecting things - which would surprise me???

are you still trading your weekly and daily systems?? or have you moved on like you say to a new system?

The reason im asking is because im trading with the sma25 high and low trending system with the e-mini futures and having great success with it and have done for some time now. Ive altered it slightly from your original posting as im using tick charts instead and have other rules to trade it.

By the way in the past ive paid out lots of money to so called trading mentors and been on courses but the stuff you have taught me has been by far the most valuable. My trading before was based on indicators and oscilliators and i never made money in the 9 years ive been at this game, don't want to get carried away with myself but for the last few months ive actually started to make money. While trading this way im also noticing price patterns like h&s, ghosts, double tops and bottoms etc and its amazing how powerfull they are, before i never noticed them because i concentrated on my indicators too much. Im becoming a better trader and your posts really have been the making of me, i mean it in the nine years ive been learning about trading id say your posts have been the best ive read. Thanks again.

Hi, nothing to do with this thread but I feel it is a good op to ask you this. I started studying FOREX straight and have absolutely no experience in stock or futures market. Are they easier to trade? would you or anybody recommend to start trading stocks or futures rather than forex for beginners like me?

Great question. I've traded both stocks and futures. Am now focusing on forex and believe it to be, hands down, the best market for ME to trade. I am a trend trader, trading swings in the market, and the forex market trends better than either the futures or the stock market.

I would highly reccomend staying in the forex market. The demos are great, and the community of traders here at FF are the BEST resource for training and helping you along the way.

Lots of things to say to someone starting out, but the biggest is to find a system that works for you practically and then demo trade it. Come to know and understand it forwards and backwards. Learn about proper money management (in other words, don't trade toooooo big.).

This is a great business. Welcome.

Yes and you need DISCIPLINE. I cannot emphasize this enough. Say you have a good system and for weeks you do it to the T. The you are out of control and you screw up your rules and with one bad trade you can screw up weeks of disciplined success.... Just my 2 cents.

your right about forexfactory, and forex traders in general seem to be more willing to help out newbies. As this is the case all im doing in finding systems here on forexfactory and trying them out on volatile markets like the er2 and the dax futures. No reason why forex systems can't work on futures or stocks, infact i believe some systems work better as you don't have the spreads.

Yes.

You have to choose how many times you will allow yourself to re-enter after being stopped out.

Your overall best risk/reward is if you take one trade per week. But you might miss a big trade if you don't re-enter.

Next best is 2, then 3,.... I'm sure you get the idea.

Hello!

I have been reading these forums for a while and want my first post to thank everyone for the great information, and specially to tkimble for posting this great system.

I have adapted some parameters (I use a different stop loss), I have added a trailing stop at round numbers (100 pips), and it works well for GBP/USD.

I didn't like the idea of a trailing stop because I back tested the strategy and it worked worse than without trailing stop, but finally this trailing stop is useful in days such as last november 9th. :surprised

Now, let the price go swing and hold it. Let the sell order remain at 2.0606.
