Hey giraia_br...

Almost feel obliged to give my thoughts on this, as it was originally mine...

Here is a cleaner version with reference only to S/R... Hopefully may give you a start in how to watch for such things...

I was going to say the same. At the very least, the third trade could've been avoided by paying attention to the price region where it stopped and turned around previously.

There doesn't seem to be much going on today.
kind of a choppy market. A few good short trends, nothing special. I traded a few ideal setups (trading) with a larger amount and poor setups (gambling) with less So I'm ahead for the day but not by much.

I'm wondering if it will be a slow week due to Thanksgiving in USA Thursday.

Typically I think the week after Thanksgiving is pretty big, guess time will tell...

Took 2 shorts today for +8.5 and 2 longs for +7--charts below...market was quite choppy--I hadn't traded the 3-4pm EST time period before, but as several people noted higher large volume trading during these times, I decided to try it--didn't really like--for those who usually trade this time--is it usually that choppy? I am learning to not pull my sl too close (you will notice 2 trades that could have been quite positive, but I stopped them out with a b/e sl. Any criticism/comments to my trades is very much accepted...pkchilly

I don't know if I can offer much in the way of help with your trades but I can say that today's 3-4pm EST volume or direction was not the norm. At least not like last week with definable trends and very little chop.
Todays PA seemed trapped by strong support & resistance levels. Still it was a little better than the rest of the day (not by much)

Is EFX really better than Oanda for scalping or are they actually in the same league? Demo (on EFX) worked well for me, but I am not so sure about a real account and it looks like spreads are very often higher than on Oanda (especially considering commission). At the same time there are so many slippages on Oanda lately...

I'd still like to hear someone answer this question...

Tks Fibo, nice to know it's not the norm--cause i'd really love to trade 3-4pm!!! That'd mean I wouldn't have to wake up so early--just can't quite stand getting up at 6am EST--lol. One thing I noticed was that price almost always moved incredibly on the hour--don't know if we can exploit this...pkchilly

I heard that!! I didn't learn to trade so i can get up before the sun!! Even if trading is the hardest way to make an easy living.

I think some of the hour spikes are due to traders reading the 1 and 4 hour candlestick closes. I'm not sure how to exploit it either... just keep it in mind i guess

Hey Fibo--I haven't really had a problem with Oanda--I find that if I pull up the buy window and base my entry either off that window or put in a limit order I get filled where I want to be filled. I close my trade by moving up my stop loss or by closing with the close window (this price is much more current.) That being said, I am using a live account, but I'm not loading up the lots yet...I'll let you know if it gets worse when I start ramping up the lot sizes--oh, and my trades are usually a bit slower than some of the 5 sec trades I've seen others take here...pkchilly

I've read the ebook 4 times and almost the entire Thread and I just want to say thank you to everyone especially LT! I posted my second day scalping! 11.7 pips baby!

To fellow NBs! = If you are truly serious about scalping and learning everything you can to become successful I highly suggest reading the entire Thread. Yes, it will take a long time but the information you gain is invaluable, your questions will be answered trust me!

If you need more motivation use the financial calculator below...
Principal = Your starting account balance.
Rate = 1% to 2% a day (what you should be getting with 6 pips a day)
Years = Use 200 to 240 (actual trading days in a year)
5 days a week * 4 weeks a month * 12 months = 240 (no holidays)
Click Calculate and open your jaw! lol.

Thanks again LT!

Fight On!

Right now my trades are mostly just straight breakouts from
minor consolidation/stalls. They are usually pretty short trades.
I look forward to being able to ride choppier waves and especially
to be able to time entries and exits on the minor flame waves
and stay in awhile longer.
