219.32 is the low here on the daily chart measure the high of the spike and the low of the spike on the double top dailly chart puts us right back at 219.32 potentially this is my expection but not just yet

Thanks for clarifying 59, no doubt the daily 5sma is a line to watch out for. I take it back - that's a great call, even if it is a little brave. My MT4 daily MA's are screwed due to individual Sunday bars so I totally missed it.

Did I see it right that you were drawing your fibs from the high and low points of the 5sma?

yes I used a 4 hr chart for this as I am some what of an active trader LOL

Sunday bars what must be messing mine up too. I don't get anything close to what others post wrt 5sma values.

im pretty new to currency trading so this question might sound dumb but why would you close your shorts if you know that we will eventually be testing the previous low (within the next few days) and possibly dropping even further?

Trading 101 - cut your losses and let your profits run.

Nobody knows what will happen in the market, despite what some might claim. Holding onto losing trades when the market is moving 'against' you is a sure way to lose, if not blow your account. Set your stops at an acceptable level and stick to them.

Anyhow, if you do hold onto them and eventually the market does move in the direction you were expecting, the market will have to move all the way to entry before you are in profit. Exit early, eat the loss and you could get in later at a better price when the next signal comes in. This is my take on it anyway.

i normally try to trade like this but i find myself exiting out of trades too early (because i get scared) and then getting in at a worse price. i guess that has something to do with the fact that im a newb at this.

also, i always read conflicting views on this. some ppl advocate the use of stop losses while others dont.

wouldn't the concept of "building shorts" during retracements be a bad idea then?

G/U 1 hr chart shows a bounce on the 100 ema (and 200 ema right above it) if this holds. This level 2.0803 should act as a resistance.
