I just joined the thread as the GBP/JPY is what I am constantly looking forward to. There exist a number of EA's for this strategy. I have come across Skyline and Trend Chaser's EA's.
I was just wondering how similar are these EA. I am a big fan of manual trading though.

Welcome Jat!

There are more than ten versions out of three major smithies + plus 1 extra:

1. SuperNova Glenn v.1.0 - v1.5
2. Trendchaser EAs now v3.2
3. Uconn 1.0
4. Supernova v1.0 to v2.0

Right now the 1. & 2. are the freshest and possible most widely used!

Ciao
Gnat

Thanks Gnat.

The sound alerts for QQE crossing are where? In the EA or in the template for the MT4?
Please indicate how to change it as I am not aware of it.

Also indicate what pairs are best traded using this strategy.

sorry for all the updates ppl
in this version i fixed the closing of trades
it was set up just like the entry
so that all indicators used must agree
now if any 1 indicator says close, then trade closed
the dmi changed from 21 to 27 increasing profit a little more

Hey Dogster!

This really looks pretty impressive! Nice example of how to handle the manual trades without too much "hectic" fiddling!
And again it is so much easier to trade bigger lotsizes with clear signals as you manage the trade and pull the trigger. That is only partly an option with the EAs - the various!

Beautifully done! Thanks!

LOL!!! Morse!

Hey, it is midnight in Hamburg! I am (normally) in bed now. The rest of the bunch will surely show up later. It seems that trendchaser is also not too far away from my timezone, as he seems to be online quite often around GMT/CET.

Good Night and do not be frustrated!

Gnat, NoFX: We are learning from each of you. Keep it coming.
Trendie: Thanks for the revised version. I am running your EA on one platform and Skyline EA on a VPS. Each day, the dog and I go to the forest to invoke the gods of forex to give us something that works. I love that you are optimizing as you go. Bravo.
Matrix: I see you are prowling in the Bluto forum. The new jitterbug and SRSI are running here, also. Both of these may finally be free of bugs and keepers.
Bluto seems to be a genius with great experience. I wish I could see his code.
Regards to all SuperNova Troops. What a great system!
Glenn

hey morse, not sure why you have no trades
you have the smiley face on the chart?
be sure to check your journal for any problems
it will let you know if your using a wrong indicator
this ea uses qqea and not qqe
you can also test the ea by setting single entry to false and tick to true
this will give instant trade, if all indicators agree, right now all indicators agree exept qqea, so thered be no trade yet untill qqea cross up

I have a few questions towards this system.

I will really appreciate if Cryten, Gnat and Nofx also answered to these questions.

I am trying to formulate a generalized understanding of the Supernova strategy.

  1. When you enter the 100+ pip moves on the GBP/JPY do you enter a stop loss of let us say 30 pips? Or just wait and manually close the trade if it starts to go against you?
  2. What is the best time frame, the M15 or the M5?
  3. Will it be prudent to enter a trade in a counter trend?
  4. The trades entered are of usually what % of the account?
  5. How much average time it took you to master the Supernova trading strategy?
  6. What are the core indicators in the Supernova strategy, the QQE + DMI + Momentum, as there are a host of other indicators in the Supernova MT4 template?
  7. Is there an online document/PDF regarding this system.

Jat50b,

I will give you my answer to your questions - Cryten and Gnat may have a different opinion.

*Firstly, I always enter a stop loss on every trade. I do not have a set pip value for this. I like to place it behind the T3 if possible but will also use S/R levels as well.

*I do not trade the 5 min time frame. I only trade the 15 min.

*I do enter counter trend trades but one must also be aware of the trend and place stops and targets accordingly.

*I personally do not risk more than 5% of my account on any one trade - usually 3% or less. This is just my personal preference.

*I would not say that I have mastered this system but I have been trading it for probably less than 2 months.

*Yes, the QQE, DMI, momentum and T3 are the core indicators in the system.

*There is not to my knowledge any PDF document on this system. This thread is the only source of information I have found. I learned the system by spending a couple days reading this thread from first to last and I would suggest the same for anyone wanting to get a good grasp of the system - many questions will be answered in the process.

Good trading to you,

NOFX

Hi,

Not much action for me so far today. I took 2 trades - both were 20 pip scalps. News for GBP is due out again in a little over half an hour so that is probably the reason for lack of movement right now. Have to wait and see what happens....

Doggy
