I would assume that you are using different entry and exit rules on the 1.4 as it is possible. So if the exit rules of the sell are not yet met, but there is a true signal for a buy, it may get you into two trades (hedge) on the same pair at the same time. Please check you settings, so that you may find out what has led to this double action.

Does v1.5 stop this condition? so even though another entry signal is met it won't open another trade w/v1.5 until the previous is closed? Is Re-entry ONLY for opening two trades in the same direction? I thought it would still wait until the previous order was closed.

I do not yet know exactly, as my strategies do not so much occur in the lower timeframes and therefor I have really no chance to have the EA open multiple trades on me. In testing I have not come across it on the 1.5 so I guess it may have been fixed completely. Please use your settings on the 1.5 that led to the prob. in 1.4 and report!

Hi Matrix,
as far as I remember all SuperNova version comes with hard-coded rule that avoid EA to enter more than 1 trade at the same time. In particular it checks if there's no active order opened before open a new one and this feature has nothing to do with re-entry rule I'm also quite sure that this procedure is working since I use it in 99% of my EA , so it's very strange what happened to your platform.
Btw looking at your chart , I can see between the two sell orders, another little red arrow that should indicate that EA closed previous trade. This (should) imply that only 1 trade was active when the second one was triggered.
One possible reason that come to my mind could be that you had some connection problem and when function OrdersTotal() (that return number of active trade polling the broker server) returned 0 instead of 1 , causing that double trade.

Ok, no problem. As long as I was right and your EA is only supposed to enable ONE order at a time and you've fully tested that, then I'll conclude my issue is what you were thinking, Platform/Broker issue, Connectivity issues, etc. Ok, thanks.

I have seen this problem. The problem occurs when you reload the chart with a new template or close [click on the X] /open [brand new] chart on the pair. I don't know if this was your issue.

My five min. robot adventures have been less than stellar. Since the bot seems to like the thirty min. window, this is my attempt to blend Laguerre with CCI . Experiment: The thesis is that CCI is an excellent entry filter, showing the strength of the move, and the Laguerre does not oscillate over the exit threshold as does the CCI. MMTrue 10%; SL 25; TS and TP zero; Parabolic TS 1 ; enter on everything except Vol and Damiani; Laguerre 0.45; CCI threshold 120; Exit on everything except CCI. Laguerre 0.85/0.15; I am pushing the CCI up to escape the touch and run events. Gamma 0.6 and 0.32. Krytonite-Kryten Three pairs. I love dogs. Even some cats.

In the 5M TF, there are too many whipsaws. You can try the 15M or 30M TF, and try to exit off of the next higher TF instead of the same TF. Actually as CCI heads back towards zero, it means that price is actually moving back towards the EMA [forgot what EMA number is was] - it usually signals a time to possibly exit or you can just hope that it turns back around like a retracement. The only problem I find with the lagging indicators is that by the time you get the signal to exit, you could lose a lot of PIPs.

LOL... I am very specific about that. In general I dislike dogs and do not really get the hang of cats (four legged that is). But if I really get to know them, they can be really good friends!!

Duke of Glenns ... why is the CCI a good entry filter (?) - I have seen it as an excelletn way to exit in (most of the) profit. Maybe it is actually good on both sides. Let's through our thoughts together here!

Now it seems the features are back on board. Guess you could post now! So you are up 51 pips today! Just imagine this for a month.

And for all the enthusiasts of EA trading: There is one big advantage of trading manually that you should be aware of - YOU monitor the trade, and after some training you will surely get the hang of it. So you can enter much more agressively and may make the same money with your 50 pips that the EA grabs with 120 pips.

It is surely worth it to learn the manual way, as this will give you the power to control the EA much better. Please also have a look where the trend is right now (mid- and longterm) and you can decide which trade is going to be really good and which other may be closed manually if going against you.

Trading is never a free lunch! See that you learn the basics in order to not be lost if you do not find someone here on the thread or elsewhere to guide you.

Yes, Gnat. I am confident that you are correct. There is no free lunch.
I plan to use the bot mostly while I sleep, during the nice Euro session.
Playing live during the N.Y. session could be great sport.
Thanks ET. Actually, I have loved the CCI as an exit marker, so this experiment may not produce good fruit, and CCI may well prove much better.
Gnat, I have noticed that most of the strong moves correlate nicely with high CCI numbers at the entry. The mindless bot will trigger on a touch and runaway event. This too is an experiment, that may well fail.
Yes, Morse, I am exiting on the Laguerre 0.85 for long and 0.15 for short.
Entry, however, I have modified from those numbers to 0.45 for both long and short; another experiment. I am new to Laguerre, so it may not mix well with SuperNova; uncertain if it will augment an already excellent system.
I am using the StochHistogram on my chart, also: good correlation.
The five min. window probably requires eyeballs at the ready.
The fifteen might be serviceable.
The thirty seems to be just cautious enough and just volatile enough: porridge neither too hot nor too cold.
I am easily persuaded to change course, however.

Hi All,

I have posted several trades here that I have made and I don't want anyone to get the idea that I never have losing trades. They do happen and I will post a picture of that when it happens. It doesn't happen very often but I wanted to illustrate why I do not take trades even if the indicators agree. This keeps me out of a lot of losing trades. This picture is of a trade I did not take because price was bouncing off of a pivot. You can see that price had tested and rejected the pivot on the previous 2 candles. I like to have a clean break and close beyond an S/R point whether it be pivots or S/R lines I draw on the chart manually. The exception being if there is obviously strong momentum behind a move.

I hope this makes sense. Just something I like to look out for.
