This is the most interesting thing I've read in a long time. The sad thing about it, you can see it coming. I have always heard about this democracy countdown. It is interesting to see it in print. God help us, not that we deserve it.

How Long Do We Have?
About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:
'A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.'
'A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.'
'From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.'
'The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years'
'During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. from bondage to spiritual faith;
2. from spiritual faith to great courage;
3. from courage to liberty;
4. from liberty to abundance;
5. from abundance to complacency;
6. from complacency to apathy;
7. from apathy to dependence;
8. from dependence back into bondage'
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:
Number of States won by: Gore: 19 Bush: 29
Square miles of land won by: Gore: 580,000 Bush: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Gore: 127 million Bush: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Gore: 13.2 Bush: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: 'In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare...' Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the 'complacency and apathy' phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the 'governmental dependency' phase.

Apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom! And it is on course and nothing will stop this freight train.

Anyone see "geppy" reaching R1 of 238.28 before another down fall? It is currently sitting above 4hr pivot of 236.72 pointing to 238.29 (R1). . .

Just another observation while price grinds itself out here. FXCM is currently showing a 10 pip spread right now, and has for the last hour or so. There are only two different occasions in which they raise the spread like that; during dead times (4-8PM EST), and during volatile times (like news or fast moving markets). Neither or those two situations applies to this current time period. Do they know/expect something that we don't (yet)?

Powerful stuff, Maestro! I know some of the Bush bashers/haters in the thread won't like it, but the figures are undeniable.

On my fxdd mt4:
daily: 5sma cross down gann hi-lo by 5 pm est today. strong signal for bear.

both daily & 4h 5sma retrace just finished approximately.

1h kdj gets into overbought soon.

Although 4h kdj still a little oversold, but i don't expect too much upwards movement.

just when i post this, gj drop another 20 pips. just 2 cents.
tomorrow anyway won't be a super bullish day, at most retrace up a little, then re-drop and get to 235 or lower (according to Aus momentums reading).

Hey M2B, I had the same issue as you - probably wouldn't have noticed if it weren't for using 2 other platforms. I reduced the TF though and it displayed the 'real' price movement, and now they are all aligned on all TF's.

looks like the 4hr 5sma held strong. I re-entered short near it. 5 min Mouteki trendline break occurred a short while ago - I find it useful for entries/scalping

I certainly hope so... maybe if GBP rates go up we can see the beginning of G/J's journey back upwards

is that projection for the near future or do you think gy will retest the earlier low before moving up to 251?

Looks like we are in the midst of a 2nd perfect 1-2-3 pattern. If this one completes we are looking at <235.50 for a low before we get a bounce.

I don't have lot of faith in this. I just started playing with this. Just tossing it out there.

But, despite what any indicators say, the gbp statement is going to trump all.
