Entry at 238.32 on 1H short GBP/JPY 2550 system (+60 pips)


Closed both out for a total of +162 pips today.

Thus far, live testing using your system since mon, total +317 pips

As soon as I learn how to draw on my charts, I can give a more detailed explanation.

If I am having this success with GBP/JPY, would you consider also trading the NZD/USD and GBP/USD with your 2550 system on a 4HR.

could you please explain further your 4hr trade? as on my charts if you entered short on the candle after the break of the 50ema at 237.33, the next candle went up and closed back above 50ema (an exit signal?). did you just hold it - because it didnt hit your SL - and it came back down and into your favour?

or maybe my charts have the 4h candle open/close differently so there was no close back above 50ema.

you are too funny effi!! silly slapping each other!!! the only thing keeping the bears from winning is the sub prime losses right now. without that, the dollar would surge with the news coming out as of late, imho. should be an interesting couple of weeks, and i intend to take full advantage of it by making some serious pips before thanksgiving.

You are right it did come back, but I held my position due to the following system.

EMA 6
EMA 12
WMA 21

When all of those lines cross it confirms the trend on a 4H chart. Therefore I knew the market was in a downward trend so I held my position.

I just entered long at 238.15 on GBP/JPY

Short on GBP/JPY 237.44 +51 Floating

Long NZD/USD .7752 -30 Floating

GBP/JPY was based on 2550 system break of EMA 50 and agrees with continued downward trend on a 4HR.

Have moved SL to B/E
---------------------------------------------------------------

NZD/USD was based on 2550 system testing the 50 EMA then pulling back and closing above the 25 EMA. This trade also agrees with the overall upward trend.

I'm new in this thread, just read it from last night. I want to practice it soon, but this sideways makes me get sleepy...Well, I see EJ almost goes above 2550. Am I right??? Does it mean that I can be ready for open position in EJ??? Thx for the explanation.

One thing you could consider is something I ran across on a different thread here, that I've started using - changing the RSI settings to 56 and 44. With these settings, combined with the original rules as outlined on the first page, you'd only go long when RSI was above 56, and only go short when it was below 44. When it's between these two, it suggests that price is range bound. When it breaks above or below these levels, it indicates that the currency is trending once more.

The idea is that this will keep you out of trades more often when price is just wandering and not trending. So fake-outs shouldn't bite you as often. It can still happen of course, but probably not as much. But, you will also likely miss some trades as well, because there are times when you'll get an MA cross while the RSI will still be locked inside the 56/44 range. And by the time it crosses above or below, it's already too late to enter.

As always, it's each person's individual call, and you might want to demo trade it for a while to get a feel for it, and see what you think.
