Any thoughts/complaints/words/ blah blah blah....

MT4 interface, 1 pip on the EUR and $Yen, NFA and CFTC registered. I haven't looked into them too much yet....

The site says 2 pips. Where did you get 1 from?
MT4 Currenex passthrough in the works, according to Jack (employee)
ATC is just an IB not an FCM I'm not sure who their clearing threw these days.

But if you wanted the best spread I would recommend going straight to the FCM or better yet open up on IB w/ the FCM to save a pip since this is how IBs make their money.

On Oct. 23 they said "Hamilton Williams" when I asked who their liquidity provider is.

Are there now NFA requirements to be an IB? I seem to recall something like this, but don't recall the details. Either way, that's an interesting idea.

Also on the 23rd they said MT4 is not ready for their Pro accounts yet.

As far as I know there isn't any current requirements there was some talk about this 6/8 months ago but nothing that i know of ever came out of it.

Since new regulations last month, if you're going to get paid from an NFA registered IB (like Avail), you also need to be registered with the NFA in some capacity. Even if you're going to become the IB of a registered FCM, they're going to be even more legally responsible than before so your actions - that's why most FCM's are requiring IB's to be registered by Jan 1st. The days of the low-hanging fruit are over.

Judging by the spreads in this shot I just took live of their Currenex feed, I'm pretty sure ATC isn't adding a pip to the spread. It would be hard for eur/usd to be showing a 0-pip spread in that case.

Trust me one way or another they are getting a rebate from the FCM so then it tacked onto the comm. Instead of paying $20 per mil your paying $25

I just don't see the point of going threw an IB

I wonder if they will come out w/ a new test I think a 3 is a little much to have for a FX IB.

Sorry for going off the topic but I wonder if this will also affect how signal provider threw fx-auto ause currently they are paid threw fxdd and/or fxcm kind of like an IB

I agree. Usually, there's no point in doing so; unless going through the IB allows a trader to open up with a lower minimum than going straight to the FCM. This may be the case with Avail. BGC has recently changed their policy. They will no longer take $25K accounts. They now want to deal with institutional accounts or experienced traders with more funds. Maybe if you go through Avail, this won't be the case (not sure). If it isn't, then it's certainly worth paying $5 or $10 per million extra to trade at BGC.

Turbo, do you mean that the series 3 is too difficult or to easy? Personally, I think the exam is a joke. When I was a stockbroker in the past, I got the 3 just for kicks - though I never used it. I thought it was a piece of cake to get; boring as hell, but a piece of cake.

I'm not sure if fx-auto is a registered firm in any capacity (cta, ib, cpo, etc.), but if they aren't, they can only be paid by existing FCM's that are willing to take on the risk. They cannot be paid by another registered IB.

I got my 3 back in 2001 not hard at all but a ton of unnecessary commodity stuff for the stand alone FX trader.

turbo, i don't think the simplified exam will ever happen. I do agree with you though. What does an FX trader care about commodities? The problem is that the regulatory stuff will always be there, so the commodities will always be intertwined in some unclear way.
