FF saying that the cut is from 4.75% to 4.25% whereas actual cut is too 4.50%????

I don't trade the news at all.

But I was intrigued so I logged on and noticed that they had called it wrong.

That really doesn't look good.

I know, and now I have to start my account all over agian! I hate that, and am not sure how many times my wife will let me use our Christmas $ on FX. I had everthing set up, even with the little green circle ready and everything. Clicked it 15 seconds before anouncement, saw .25 and promtly bought $'s. Bam, and the market went the oposite direction. I for one, am never using FF for my news trading again. Shame on you FF!

i would say always double check any number release with another source. i think most news trading pro's use a service like trade the news with audio alerts.

you bought $'s instead of selling them on a cut?? btw, it's the future rate expectations contained within the statement that the market normally reacts to, since much of the current expectation is usually discounted before release.

also betting the farm on any trade ain't a good idea.

OH, my. This was a joke, and I thought it was a give away with the christmas money bit. Phil, thanks for the comment on the scripture and gambling. Not sure I consider FX gambling if you have a statistical edge. The same thing with a Mutual Fund, which some consider money in the bank. I don't news trade, and if I did I wouldn't be blaming my news source for MY trading. I truly did not expect this and apologize for my comments and the misunderstanding. Hope you all have a great weekend, you made mine.

My apologies if it was all said in jest. When you say you were clicking the green circle on a news realease and bought dollars it sounded like news trading to me. Have a great weekend yourself.

My apologies Phil. Yes, it would have been news trading, and I didn't really place an order buying $ with my wife's christmas money. I didn't lose anything because of FF, on the contrary have gained.

i thought you were serious about this, because you said "bought $'s", i figured you werent that bright, as the mistake would have caused you to sell dollars:

The actual interest rate cut is only 0.25% instead 0.5% as predicted by FF. That about it....
