Oil is said to have a negative correlation to jpy currency because japan has no oil and uses so much. That being said, I haven't placed any trades today (9:30-current EST) as the market has been so choppy--welcome to Friday trading--I'm sure some of the others can trade this market, I just haven't found the high probable trades I like to take... pk

PK way to be disciplined, saying that you haven't found the high probale trades is a great statement for all of us to learn. I keep telling myself to not over trade, thanks for your comment.

I agree, this morning's market was extremely choppy for eur/jpy.
Very few good moves today. On days like this, the trend can't be your friend.
Does anyone have advice on how to avoid the range traps that we've seen in today's London and US sessions?

Shutopia, I like to take a look at what the market has done in the 2 hours previous to when I trade--for clues as to how it will react now. I look at how it tested s/r lines and how it reacted to .50's and .00's. I also look at flame strength to try and determine underlying market direction. I don't think there is a simple tried and true way to trade (ie, when this does such and such against that, place such and such a trade) because I have found the market to be an ever evolving animal--it doesn't have to do the same thing. I believe people who have been trading for a great amount of time and are successful at it are able to see these evolving clues as they trade--they are able to see a whole lot that new traders miss--hence the 95%+ fail rate on new traders. LT says more screen time--so that's what I've been putting in so that my subconscious can start evolving with the market. I only place trades when I can look back and see that today's market has reacted in a certain way at least a couple times--and even then I have to follow all the other rules of trading ie with trend etc. I've rambled enough...hope I wasn't too mystical. pk

I think days like these and specially fridays are for not trading at all.

I was nailed infront of the monitor all day and saw only two nice setups.The best was 6.15 hours after london opening.

I have enjoyed loosing monopoly money today,lol

it's good if you can stay out of trading on such a day

I made one trade today, made a few pips and called it a day.
I don't usually trade on Fridays due to extremely choppy market conditions. I can't remember the last time I traded on a Friday. There is always another day to get more pips.

Anyone using efx should just dump their default efx/mbt navigator ....

use ninja "MBT Navigator" its the same thing.

ok here are few more thing you should do with ninja to set it up for easy trade.

1-Change default stock so you have EUR/JPY and any other currency you want. so you dont need to manually type those currency into chart each time.

2-Use the template and save it as default. (you can use eyecell template also)

Start ninja trader and there you go, accurate chart with your very own broker datafeed.

Monday & Friday is the best day to trade... it has so much volatile for us to catch so much more pips..... on so many High probability trade setup.

You dont need to wait for long for another trade setup to came along.

You delete all default stock and put gbp/jpy

currestly ninja will skip any timerame data is not downloaded & show as the price spiked to new price level once it get reconnected.
