Been Looking at your success over the months. I have just one question . I see that you mostly trade the gbp/yen . Do you trade the other crosses as well, or you just lately that you have stuck to this one.?

Well, I try and treat each day as it comes no matter how well or badly the previous day went. I think it's important to stay level headed and keep the old feet on the ground.

I don't set myself short term targets, I believe I have an edge and over time that will show in my overall profit.

Yup, I just compound at this stage as my account size doesn't warrant doing anything else. There will come a point though where I can actually see some hard cash

Yes these last few months I've traded almost exclusively the GBPJPY although I've also looked at USDJPY & EURJPY on the odd occasion.

The quick 20+ pip movements in GJ do lend themselves well to my style on the shorter timeframes.

I must admit I have not studied you journal in detail, but have been aware of you and your journal since you started it. Just the other day I popped into your thread and it appears that you have switched from trading daily charts to scalping. You seem to have a lot of 10pip wins. Do you mind telling me why you changed you trading style that way?

I am asking since it appears that you previously traded close to the James16 school of daily candlesticks which is a highly recommended method with the added benefit of not having to watch charts all day.

Please enlighten me!

Hi Andreas,

In short, I've taken what I've learned over the last 10 months on trading the daily charts and applied this to the shorter timeframes.

It's very early days but so far I've been reasonably successful. I'd like to take this a stage further by seeing if I can do this consistently over a period of time. It may well be that the last couple of months have been perfect for my methods so I need to test under differing market conditions.

Okay, while you were shorting the GJ, I was Longing the EJ, I was exiting where you guys were entering.

With the type of moves the GJ and EJ have, the +10 pips is a very conservative and reasonable target.

I use a scaling out on my entries, usually take first exit around 6/7 pips, then the next around 10/12 and the final one I will leave in for a continuation for a breakout, but never leave it in to go into the negative.

I am presently only scalping the EJ 99% of the time, but watch the GJ price action to confirm my EJ entry/exit.

Hi Steviet,

I was following your progress at the start of the year when you were trading about 5 pairs and did no scalps. And you were doing very well then also.

I just decided to see how you were getting on and I see youre scalping the bejaysus out of GJ. Do you have a method you use for this and well done on october pip count, Very impresive.
