Hey Phranq,
I don't know if Oanda's slower feed worries me that much--it makes it easier to do minor arbitrage with other charts--it's the bucketshop tactics that worry me--I haven't had many problems with Oanda--just slippage that you can expect everywhere--even on ECN's (is the grass really greener on the other side) And Oanda doesn't seem to move as far as EFX on the large moves. As far as spreads--their spreads aren't half bad when you add in EFX's commission--I pay about 1.7pips on commission plus the spread--if I only buy and sell on 0 spread on EFX, it is better than Oanda, otherwise, spreadwise, it's not--correct me if I'm wrong. And every platform I've been on has outages--we'd like to be in a perfect world--but it's not...Big O does have quite a few advantages--we like the charts--we like the ability to trade off the charts and move our sl's and tp's with a click of the mouse--we like the fixed spread, no clicking the mouse and finding out your order was filled at a 3 pip spread--we like the constant liquidity, being able to get a short order in on a definitely short market (last week)--and I really like the ~5% daily interest. It was really cool when I was learning and made some big mistakes--one cost me $50 trying to trade gold--stupid mistake! But slowly and surely I got my $50 back in interest. I do have a smaller EFX account, but have been waiting for Remote Trader--and waiting, and waiting, and waiting...can you tell I'm not a very patient person...pk

Do not worry... I am working on that issue... Linuxtroll may provide pure feed without any manipulation with 5 sec Rainbow only... That way Rainbow scalpers can trade with any broker... I will test it first, whether this will work or not... Easy if we can also use our BlackBerry or Windows Mobile 6... Good if it is a web based solution... Opera browser will work on many mobile devices... LoL

Are you not happy with EFX? I just funded my account with them. Not sure which platform to use, EFX Forex client or EFX Navigator (heard about Omega - not sure how it is or how to get it). I must admit I am rather attached to Oanda platform (just not their spreads, delay & outages). I also have Tradestation & notice that its feed is noticably earlier than Oanda. Not sure if I'm going to keep TS, since it involves a monthly cost (unless you use them as a broker, but for our purposes the spreads seem large). I have tinkered in the past with Xtick, which is a funky charting program, but it requires a sub too. LT has mentioned them in the past.

Any advice regarding how to get the most out of EFX/MBT would be appreciated, like docs, tips, etc.

WRT earlier comments about screen time, it's a necessity not only in order to recognize the setups that work, but also those that don't, after all a pip saved is a pip earned, or something like that...

Many thanks to all... I'm SLOWLY getting there...

Its best to learn the EFX Navigator first. The EFX webinars on Navigator are torture for me to sit through. MB Tradings Navigator is identical and they have first class comprehensive webinars here:

I also wasn't able to make oanda work on my WM6 browser. I even tried to install different java engines, but with no success.

So if anyone has a solution, please let us know

Still cant grab more than a few pips on this huge move. More practice. Made a few more scalps today but eventually they totaled 3 pips.

Well LT, it may not have been pretty, and I certainly got in later than I could have & bailed too early, but that definitely was a great wave to catch & 12 pips is fine by me...

Now where did I put my nose plug & water wings?...

I have a funky setup that might the needs of some out there...

Because of my swing trading past (both intentional & accidental... ) and the fact that I still have a day job until I become more consistent, I have been using GoToMyPC both from my work PC (during breaks, of course) and from my windows mobile phone. Admittedly there is a monthly sub ($19), but it works beautifully from ANY PC since it's browser based (there is no app to install per se), and as such, no firewall issues. As well, it runs nicely from my WM phone, although the small screen size takes some getting used to. But you can zoom in/out & navigate your screen easily enough.

This setup avoids the need for WM specific apps since it leverages the apps you already know & love that are on your desktop. The only caveat is you MAY need to increase the size of your internet pipeline to accommodate the additional traffic of your remote connection so it doesn't adversely affect your desktop apps.

Note: I do not work for Critix, nor do I own shares in the company, I just like the tool/service...

Given the specials they always have, perhaps they could offer a bunch of Rainbow traders a group discount...

Hope this helps...

cheers,
frank

Yesterday I had a bad session for my rainbow scalp ...

guided with oanda chart and trade in efx was simply like chasing something never there, ...... oanda was half a second late always. I am sure it was because of the news etc. and entered on wrong side almost each time.

after relax a while, i thought i might try the ninja again.

Then, I open my ninja trader with its ugly 1 tick chart rainbow .. watch the price action there with oanda 5s chart below it just to get larger view and made 60 pips in 6 trade...... .

I guess I will have to move to better charting software to really make use of this rainbow system.

Mr LinuxTroll.
The e-book does has some recommendations on this but if you don't mind me asking,

what charting software you personally use ? and with which broker you use them.
God Bless

ninja works good for me and looks ok after you tweak it a little. why 1 tick? use 6-12 tick or 5sec

So what do you do when the chart is doing this:

Do you roll your pen around the desk? Watch TV? I know LT will say 'Hit some golf balls' but I usually wait for a while to see if any movement happens later on.

Today's scalps

I've been playing around with Ninja these past few days and I can't get the screen to zoom out. The way it looks on my computer is just too big and my resolution is 1280x960. Like it's been zoomed into all the way. It looks like this.

mr troll, would you post one of those high-probability trades that you would take but it would eventually turn out to be a loser. i mean that 1% of the trades

thank you
