This sure looks nice! I want some it too... My QQEA wasn't so profitable last night because of its too close BE(40) setting. It would have given about +200 at this morning. I had really nice backtest results yesterday but I lost the settings when tweaking them again and again It gave over $600 in a week Mon2Mon just "dot2dot" on 15M.

I'm off from work today and tomorrow, so shall get into testing mode. On my list is QQEA variables as well as CCI for exit <-- this is extremely good with GBPJPY 4H - doing a quick visual backtest, it's almost as if it "knows" that this is the peak for this round and it's time to get out, fabulous.

Look at that, on 4H, nice one! I was only concentrating to 15&30M. How about re-entries, it works there too. Maybe with CCI-period and level-adjusting we might find something really useful.

Btw. My new testserver works fine now (at least I think ), netprofit using QQE on 4H (just dot2dot, no indicators) was over $6500. What do you guys and girl(s) like my new avatar. It's a picture of my first EA :

Maybe all of you already know this (I'm not real quick with visual cues) but I just noticed that if you click at the top of your screen on the paper clip icon (just beside the 159) :

http://i22.tinypic.com/2wlyh6o.jpg

you'll get a list of all the attachments ever posted in a given thread in chronological order. Quite handy if one wants the "latest version" of something or much quicker to find an attachment than going through pages and pages of text.

(gnat don't laugh (it hurts when we have a cold) since this feature was probably in existence ever since I started reading the thread back in march .........)

And yet another week has swoooooshed by........

OK, so here’s the status of the 4 bot systems at friday’s close. I only manually closed out the OldAutobots and left the others run their course with some trades still open during the week-end (this is a new approach).

PROFIT TABLE

http://i20.tinypic.com/qpp211.jpg

As you can see, we get lousy pipage for all except the B&Bbots which grossed 418 realized pips (or $364) for the week since all trades were closed by the bots. I consider this to be excellent and will continue to monitor if we can get these results on a consitent basis.

I have also done some more extensive tweaking of their TP values for all the pairs and decided to re-introduce 3 pairs and changed the TP for chfjpy as well as delete all the stop losses (all results were better without them). I’ll post the details of the B&B setup a little later.

For Manual Qpip there’s still one open trade and as you can see from the “equity” column, it’s negative. So these bots managed to end the week with a whopping $11. Early retirement here we come.

The Autobots didn’t fare much better. Still in 4 trades (3 positive 1 negative) for a total of $65 which brings its end-of-week glorious performance to $79, which I qualify as Top Cruise and Resort For Rest of Year Vacation cash (or something like that).

Now, about the OldAutobots. You may remember that tuesday evening of this week, after less than 24 hrs, these guys were up for a global amount of 1000 pips (see post #1118) (it’s actually 870 pips or 1000 dollars, I still get these mixed up sometimes) Anyway, this went down into oblivion in the course of the week, losses were taken, and then at friday’s close they finished the race with a negative balance but some positive open trades. I did manually close them out (I’m not supposed to do that technically I would have left them to their own but I want to restart testing them in comparison next week with the CLOSE ALL feature posted by cryten on post #1116). I’d like to have this implemented in the ea for next week (wishfull thinking) so that we can see if by taking profit when the global balance is up so many pips (say, 300 or something) we can get some REALIZED gains instead of watching the balance sorrowfully deflate in front of our eyes. (FOR HERB: does this need to be coded in the ea or is it used as a separate “indicator”?)

So the OldAutobots manually finished positive with $255 (or 293 pips) for the week, but this is still LESS than the B&Bs and these guy’s potential gains/losses are way bigger than the formers’, not to mention that the B&Bs only included 3 pairs, as opposed to 8 for the OldAutobots.

So for the new and old Autobots, either I succeed in applying a better exit strategy overall or the CLOSE ALL@ X pips works out to be profitable, but in the current state of affairs, I need to find something as these are turning out worse results than the B&Bs (not “supposed to” according to my backtests, although it’s only been a week)

Hey Gna-KAZOUNTIE-t,

Did you ever open up an account with (can't remember name of firm) but the broker with whom you had some conversations last week?

I'm in the process of sending out my paperwork to MIG and should start REAL LIVE ACTUAL NO FAKE TRUE NO FICTION DO OR DIE account next week (and will take the week after that OFFFF to start the adventure)

For the manual trades I have fallen into the habit of scaling out again. I am using the managetp EA again and set them to higher target increments on the more volatile pairs and on at least a smaller first target on the middle pairs. On USDCHF I just take profit every 15 pips and on EURCHF just every 8 pips. It works amazingly well and it is much less greedy than our other approaches... Still there is the parabilic stop - somethings on the thread about that, but I cannot wrap my ahttered mind around it right now - and the different TF thingy, which seems timeconsuming.
But for getting started with some real money action the managetp may work nicely and is already built into the Glenns. But it can also run on a second chart or Herb may find some time... hihihi...

Greetz from the flufly!

Wow - sounds good!

I talked to Dave twice since then and he is preparing something. I will let you know as soon as he sends me any info!
But for EA trading I guess right now any MT4 may do. Someone in the thread mentioned that trading a certain EA was not so good at MIG and after he switched, the EA performed so much better. Hard to get to grips with though.

Is it possible for you to take so many days off - especially after the promotion? My sister only has about 15-18 days of holidays per year... in Canada!

Happy to see you here tonight!!

Good (late)evening Gnat and Qpip!

Gnat are you feeling any better now? I took few whiskey shots to keep cold and flue away Have you looked at Parabolic SAR yet? I found it quite interesting with QQEA. I'll try to find some good settings for the next week. Todays result were a bit over 100pips (not yet using SAR). I closed last trade manually because Friday (it would have given 30 more pips later on). I hope I'll find good entry (QQEA) and exit (SAR) for the next week. I'll try 5&15M, maybe 30M, will see. But now, good night my friends and have a great weekend!

Hmmm I don't like the sound of that, as all my testing etc. was done based on MIG. I'll hop over to the thread to see who posted about that and I'll enquire as to the details. Thanks for pointing that out.

I'm actually totally OUT OF vacation time for this year, however I do have 4 weeks accumulated vac time for next week, so I'll just try to take a week "in advance". (I'm also "supposed" to get an extra week with the promotion thing, but that's not set in stone, I'll soon find out)
