I mean looking at the 4h chart, the trend seems to have changed direction from downward to upward, and the downward we had from 235.80 to 232.70 was a 50% retracement, and now it should go higher than 235.80 which I think will be 236.60 area.

I think next u/j 1hr must open higher than 114.10 in order for g/j to go up,...
Will buy g/j again if u/j dips at 113.80 area again,...

The new 8 hour momentum is up, so we could see a retrace to the 234.5 area. If it makes it there I will probably go short.

I have lurked here for a long time---but I have made so many pips thanks to the experts here that I feel guilty not contributing anything. I will not post a chart this time (it is very confusing to look at), but based on the 3 major downtrend lines on the 10min and 5 min charts, combined with fibo levels, this is what I see:
1) price must break above 233.75 for one full 10 min bar--if so we will go up to test the next trendline at 234.50---if not, we are headed down to the 232.60 region before a downside test of the current downtrend line.
2) If we break through 234.50 (2nd downtrend line) then we are up to the 234.90 area to test the 3rd downtrend line, also fibo resistance in this area.
3) If we break 234.90, then up to major battle gorund of 235.80--this is the key area for a big topside break back into the 240.00's

Overall, the path of least resistance is down, and it will take some conviction to break us over 235.80.

Does anybody have the indicator which plots non-standard time frames such as 8 hr on MT4?

This 1H pin bar is good enough reason to specualte on at least a small long position. If it was a 4H pin bar in this position it would be a no-brainer. Still, this 1H, at the bottom of a move down, doesn't look too bad for a few pips anyway. Possibly to the Daily pivot in the 234.24 area (the 30M 50EMA).

TY. I did look at your chart. TY heaps. Another question while we are waiting for the climb. It goes yo the 50% and then traces back to the 23.6, so then is it going to slingshot past the 50 again on the way to 61.8. Is that what your analasis is saying? Hope I got it right.

You've got to keep your eyes on the 50% also, but IMO it should break it and head to the 61.8%. I don't base my trades solely on fibs, I look at auslanco's indicators, draw trendlines/channels, and keep an eye on pivots too.

thanx gtt.....I see the print screen button I'll try to study how to use it....I'm an old man trying to make ends meet....pleas be patient with me.

the news has really got me drained but I'm still long and adding...my engines average directional index is now @ 55% from 45% after the news....and my daily pivot @ 234.57 and support @ 233.27....

Thanks. I do keep a good eye on the other indicators as you have said. It is good advice. But I do want to learn more about the pivots. Any idea where I can read up on some info on pivots?
