Wow, great job Rye.

I missed the short call on the GBP/JPY as well - have to sleep sometime - but I'm still in effi's GBP/USD call from yesterday. Slept through his close notice. I had moved my stop up before hitting the sack and it turned back up before it dipped low enough to hit it. Right now the trade is up about 100 pips, with about 80 locked in. Sometimes you get lucky. But I'll take it.

Looks like the GBP/JPY is looking to close that gap soon. Right now it's just about to the bottom of it.

I have to head off to work here in a bit, so everyone make some money while I'm gone. But leave some for me for when I get back.

i know everyone loves the gbp/jpy pairs right now, but i see eur/jpy setting up for a move, should be short. both jpy and eur in ob on 4hr, the 1hr really close, but maybe waiting for the news at 08:30edt for cpi numbers. anyone else have any comments??

not on h4 chart my friend.....it has crossed on h1...so depends what your tf is...

eur/usd has had a nice pullback after that enormous candle it crossed50ema in...maybe time for re-entry ????? will wait for confirmation as choppy waters ahead !!!

I've analyzed my actions over this trade and have become clear on my fault, it won't be happening again.

H0W... you can show your face here is beyond me.....lol

Unfortunately i had to go out and left position on a t/stop that was hit at 235.19.....got in at 232.54so not too shabby....ehmm..


But you will be pleased to know i got back in at 234.57 after that little retrace...

lets wait and see..

cheers again effi ....ps3 no 2 here we come..(i was useless with the first one , my kids kept beating me?)

would you filter trades in any way??

such as not taking a long trade while E25 is above E50?

or once RSI is in place and there is a close above/below E50 - its a trade?

i asked few posts ago about pairs - do you use them all or just GBPJPY and NZDUSD?

Why wouldn't you take a re-entry under those conditions if the trend was strong...

for re-entering i use multi time frame with stochs.. so if d1 is up and H4 is up i wait for a fresh cross of m30 (leaving oversold area of stoch and heading up)

not always perfect but it works well for me as an addition to effi's teachings

i am not sure you got me - and if you did, i didnt get you right.

what i am asking is if at the 4h chart we have a bar closing above E50 - would you take it no matter what? or only if the E25 is above E50?

better explanation i hope of what i want to figure..

Sorry...misunderstood you

If you read the early posts i think you'll find(someone please correct me if im wrong) that you take all crosses,because for all the small losses you will no doudt take during some whipsaw or consolidation, you will catch a good trend at some stage and that will over time put you in positive territory.

For me it seems that for price to cross the 50ema in the first place there is some good momentum. Now as this is only a game of probabilities, then that is another yes tick in your 'should i take this trade' questionaire and that is why this method works so well.

also it is a Verrrry simple approach to trading and im sure we have all read about it before,whether it 50ema 100ema or whatever.Im also sure that we've all dismissed it because it was so simple and for some reason headed for the the more complicated methods that not only end up blowing your minds but your trading account

sometimes you dont notice what an absolutely great invention the wheel was...

Hi momutot,

Rye already covered this very well. Just thought I'd point out that, if you go back to page one and check post #6, effi has outlined when you could use the 25 EMA to confirm an entry.

Hope everyone's doing well tonight, although things look rather slow at the moment. The pairs I'm watching for the 25/50 method are just sort of drifting, for the most part. I could be wrong - it' s been known to happen once or twice - but it does look like the GBP/JPY, EUR/JPY, and GBP/USD could roll over soon on the 4-hour chart. Close to testing the 50 EMA on the GBP/JPY and EUR/JPY, and the GBP/USD looks like it's not far from a resistance level around 2.0550. And the stoch indicators are overbought on all of them. All three could take off and run higher instead of lower. But the odds look to be "lower" on the 4-hour chart to me. I'll bet we find out one way or another though.
