How does the email alert setup? I guess I don't understand what SMTP server is. Looks like its asking for an IP address and port# of something. Can anyone explain it more clearly?

I'm a disciplined trader and that's the only way I trade.
You hit the nail on the head, usually you can get this information from your email provider.
You could also sign up for a free yahoo (or any other I would guess) email and they have information about the SMTP server that you could use.
I believe MT4 has a 'Test' button so once you get this info you can test it out to make sure the emails work, the Journal or Log or something in MT4 will tell you if it was able to send successfully and of course if it was ok you will get an email in your inbox.

If you have an email set up on outlook or outlook express you can look up the smtp server. Go to tools, accounts, properties, and servers. If your internet provider offers free email, they can assist on what the smtp server is. As far as yahoo, etc. and other free email services, I am not sure if they give out this info. or not. You may need to use a different email provider, I am not sure.
