Ahh, so there is others dream about rainbow & linuxtroll as well ...

Cutting losses is something I lack in discipline to do effectively. I make the tragic mistake of moving out my stops before they get hit. This works great sometimes, but it eventually catches up to me. To effectively exit, I just need experience, to be able to tell when a trade is irretrievable without the agony of watching it really crash for 15 ticks or so.

My limit for the day is 5 ticks. Then I'm done. If I can get 5 ticks a day consistently, then I know I can make piles of money.

On the other hand, 2 stop-outs means it's time to quit for the day. So, I trade until I either get 5 ticks positive, or 2 stop-outs. I'm not saying this is the best way or anything, it's just what I do, and I'm open to suggestions.

Depends on the market activity... You can always find minimum 1 high-probability scalp...
My new favorite rainbow color is all white on black.

Linuxtroll, when you enter, is it always on a break of a round number, regardless of other things like spine crossing H/V lines, spine crosses, etc.?

For, example, if the price just crossed the spine and the new spine crosses, let's say the 156.20 line and price is at 156.12-13, do you wait until it breaks 156.10 to sell?

Or would you even enter based on that scenario?
What I have been reading here is fascinating, and apparently profitable. However, there are too many posts for me to read all of them. No offense taken. Because I actually wrote that with tongue in cheek, as I was thinking "there has got to be a catch". (I blew up an account a while back thinking I could scalp!!)

But, it doesn't hurt to ask, because sometimes the stoooooopid question gets the smart answer!!

As I am trading Rainbow for several years - I enter based on patterns... Your scenario is a very conservative entry (nothing wrong with that)... Aggressive scalpers must follow the wave movement...

Yes... Think that you have deposited that blew up money in the ForEx bank... wait for my e-book and scalp carefully -- you will take that money out from the ForEx bank and much more in no time... There is a catch - mastering the Cyrox Rainbow - using Linuxtroll Simple Scalping methodology... LoL

I have been reading though this thread with interest but I am a little confused by the practice of waiting 'for the spread to be zero' on ECN style brokers. Correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that one does not pay the transaction cost as an ask/bid spread with an ECN but as commissions, so isn't the spread irrelevant? is it not more a matter of getting filled at the price you want?

No man...lol For example, lets say you are using MB/EFX and you buy AUD/JPY...the commission on that pair is roughly one pip(round turn).

So, say you buy at 94.21 with a zero pip spread, now it moves to 94.23. That means you're 1 pip in profit because the first pip covers the commission.

Then you close the trade at, let's say 94.25(also with a zero pip spread)...you got 3 pips profit.

If you did the same thing with a 2 pip spread, The price would be 94.20/22 when you got in, meaning you bought at 22, then when you close, the price is 94.24/26, meaning you sold at 24.

That gives you a one pip profit on the same trade(again, you got two, but one pip covers commission)
