question about CFA

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew anything about becoming a C.F.A.(certified financial analyst) How many modules is it? Generally how long does it take? what's the cost? do you need to be sponsored? I tried googling it but nothing came up

Usually it takes around three years to complete it. No, you don't need to be sponsored. It has quite a lot of modules as the program has been expanded quite a lot in the last years. In terms of costI think it's a few thousand quid, maybe 3000-5000£, something like that.

Does it need to be held like the 7 or 66 by a broker/dealer will it expire?

It's actually "Chartered Financial Analyst". Yes, you must be sponsored (you must become a member to hold the charter which does require sponsorship).

You also must have at least 3 years of professional experience in a financial related field (Will be 4 years soon)...You won't be awarded the Charter unless you have this amount of experience in one of the preofessions mentioned by them even if you successfully passed all 3 levels exams...

It is not expensive, level 1 costs around $800 excluding books & material...I think all in all it might be costing around $3,000-$4,000 inclusive everything...
