I ment that I wanted to change RSI to 7 but then it gave too much "zigzag", that's why I used bigger SF and then with DARFACTOR I was able shorten reactiontime. Then I noticed that it can be used on shorter timeframes for long trades, just like trading on 1H or longer but when you're on short TF you can get in trade earlier. But all this needs more testing. I also have one another idea based on QQE but it needs more testing and maybe new thread because it differs from Supernova even more than QQEA. Actually that's the one I got over 2600 pips in August by manual backtesting (signal to signal). But now I'm concentrating on QQEA.

Thanks Aleksi Vattalainen!

I hope we will manage to find the right settings inside the QQE for first the longer TFs, as we know that the EA is profitable with them. Then later on move to smaller TFs and see how long we may stay in a trade or how fast EA can be tweaked to react. This may need some time on our side, but afterwards it will be worth it, I'm sure.

Let us know what your tests will show!

This is how the Quantative Qualitative Estimation indicator is created.

1) Create an exponential moving average of RSI; the periods (length) is user-defned, default value is 2.

2) Create the 14-period ATR indicator based on the EMA of RSI.

3) Create the 2 trailing stop lines
3a) fast trailing stop is the ATR smoothed with a 14-periods wilders() smoothing function that is multiplied by a factor of 2.618
3b) slow trailing stop is the ATR smoothing with a 14-periods wilders() smoothing function that is multiplied by a factor of 4.236

Cool. And so we can play with three settings in the QQEA and can first hold 2 of them stable and play with one and run test to find the optimal settings from there. And so on ...

Oh, and forgot to say that the new thing I've been working on earlier (before QQEA) was based on regular QQE, so with the QQEA there's even more to work on.

The man without a barbershop! Maybe you could comment on the QQE and its interior in a way, as our team seems a bit mixed up until now.

I will try to make dinner without inflaming the kitchen - I already wrecked the washingmachine earlier today. All technical things are rioting here!

There may be a problem not directly with v.211, but with the spread that is locked in on the tester. If you are testing the JPY-crosses with only 2 pips of spread, the results will explode. And as you have not yet seen a real trading day with v.211 this may be behind the big surplusses on these. The other deviations are just noise - the interpolation of pips lead to a slightly different scenario.

I still have a version 208 IBFX setup here. That would work fine next week then.

Unfortunaltey Metatrader crippled the tester in v.210 and you cannot adjust the spread. Maybe Herb can build a setting for "Pips in testing"... inside the EA ... huhu!

Although the results from jan 1 are excellent, tests starting sept 1 and up to now are not so rosy. Last week was an example.

So I'm taking a go at cryten's QQE cross only ea and see how that works out.

We have trouble with the loooong moves that are only broken by very small (short) retracements. The reactiontime is too slow for the short moves - and the QQEA is in my eyes a good way to make this profitable.

Well - a comprehensive description may be needed for the settings and what they are capable of doing... I will look into that. Hopefully the test with Mikhails EA v2 will still be profitable.

BTW: Have you updated all of your platforms to v.211? Do you need a v.208?

This QQE X (cross only) is extremely SLOW, it's taking forever and I'm just testing a month and a half. Don't know what the problem is.

I still have my 210 version, but the QQE X crashes and tells me about volume limits and price mismatches and then it just freezed there.

So, yeah why not try v 208!
