I would say, many countries who hold their reserves in US dollar would not allow that to happen as it would equally be a suicide for them as well. In other words they would pour in their excess reserves back to US again. Current situation is kind of uncertain (due to sub-prime woes playing big parts), I think they are kind of acting "Wait and See" approach at the moment.

yeah but auslanco wouldn't take it because price is below 1hr 100sma and also below the daily pivot.

4hr momentum is bullish, however daily is bearish. It might go bullish to 238 or 239 and then it will go short. I might be wrong

I think the only thing propping up the stock market right now is the G7 meeting and the hope of another rate cut at the next fed meeting. I don't expect any sustained moves up or down until the fed rate announcement, but I do expect a lot a volatility in the market until then.

Then yen is currently down from the close of the last asian session. I expect the Nikkei to open considerably down and probably be negative the entire session. If so, I don't expect any bullish momentum before the european session at the earliest.

The asian session is moody, sometimes it's very quiet and other times the price is jumping all over the place. No idea about time periods, but lots of activity starts when london session kicks in.

Foreign countries don't have to dump their reserves to destroy the dollar. All they have to do is stop buying all the debt we create every month. If they stop buying (and the last two TIC reports indicate that may have happened), then our only choice will be to monetize the debt. In other words, the government will create money and buy the treasury notes. This is exactly what germany did after WWI, and I think you know the result from that (monetary collapse, depression, facism, WWII).

karmo which indicator do you use for retracement, this fall just hit the 5sma on 1hr chart and stopped

Momentum. I look at where the momentum is pointing and the angle of it at the beginning of the candle. I repeat, at the beginning of the candle, not during the candle is forming.

You can use it on any TF, I look at the momentum from 1H charts to Monthly chart.

Based on that, then the next 1hr and 4hr candles should be "choppy". Mixed signals.

1hr: 1C-up, 10C-slightly up, 14C-down
4hr: 1C-down, 10C-up, 14C-up
