Good source for Fundementals/News

I use the efxnow commentaries as my news feed. Not sure how much of it it's true, but I am pretty happy with it as it is interesting.

i have to agree. fxsol uses good news and has its time of release. you just have to figure out the wordage and what each means.

I am looking for a website/source where forcasts of economic releases are published as well as the release itself.

Any sugestions?

Here are some places that I have gone/used in the past to get the types of information that you are asking about. Keep in mind that the best analysis is your own analysis that you learn to do.

1. Wall Street Journal online -- www.WSJ.com. The link to articles about the economy is right here:

Keep in mind that you might not be able to use this link -- this is a paid web site (about $10 per month I think). I am not telling you that you need to pay them money, but I have found from time to time that the articles are quite good and summarize not only what a report said, but also quotes analysts about their forecasts.

2. Dailyfx.com. Everyone has their own opinions about whether a site is worthwhile, but I have found some very good articles on here. It's all free. Keep in mind that it's a site owned by FXCM. In my opinion that hasn't affected the objectivity of the analysis, but there are people who may disagree. Also keep in mind that I really like Kathy and Boris and think they've done a lot of great commentary -- so by pointing you to this site, I am saying that I like what they say.

3. FT.com. This is a site with some free, and some subscription articles. I really like some of the articles that summarize what's happening in forex and world economies.

4. Economist.com. I read this magazine every week. I love it. It does not directly affect my trades on a daily basis, but it helps me feel like I'm getting an idea of what the business cycles around the world are like. The Web site has free stuff as well as stuff you have to pay for. One of the best links on the site is this page:

It's a summary of what happened in the last week, economically. I like that a lot.

5. A friend once told me that John Mauldin's weekly email newsletter is really good. I read it for about a year and then I got out of the habit, but I am going to start reading it again. It's free and it contains some good information on economic indicators and the US economy. Here is the link:

Those are just a few links off the top of my head. I can't emphasize enough, that if you are interested in economics it makes sense to read what the analysts are saying, and then read as much as you can at these links and more, and then do your own analysis. Post it on FF and see what other people say. Some people will say that economics or fundamental analysis isn't important or necessary -- but find your own path. Study what you feel helps you feel comfortable with the currency markets.

A great book on US economic indicators is "Using Economic Indicators to Improve Investment Analysis, Third Edition" by Tainer. I've got quite a few books on this subject, and this is my favorite.

I read bloomberg.com, the posts here, and just about 2 days ago, I started browsing through actionforex.com, pretty good stuff, a good balance of both fundamentals, technicals, and analysts opinions and projections.

i am looking for a news service that announces the news for me. i know of BB and Rueters but do not have the money to afford that. if you guys would be kind enough to share some agencies i would be most appreciative

I don't think having a news service will make you any faster. There's not enough big news releases in a month to make me want to sign up.

Not bad for free service. Just give a try first.

Wish there is a site that would just output the numbers, I think that is all we care about and not trying to decipher what it means. FF site is one of the best, unfortunately the site is always unaccessible to me near or during news time....

Traders should have at least 2/3 screans or you will be too cramped with ..charts, order window, news window, clock and so,on:
...Be warned,some platforms will delay your order by 45 seconds and you find your self on top of the 'spike!! OUCH!
Why this method is 70% successful is that the big moooovers get their news 10 -20 seconds before the 'MUGS' (U N ME)
also, the News people place their bids before us (DUH!)
